This review is from: Safari Guide: A Guide To Planning Your Hunting Safari (Paperback)
This book has limited use since it is base on one-person single safari that covered 2 countries. The information is very generic and anyone searching the Internet on this subject would find more useful information. The best thing about the book is showing you examples of what not to do. While the author advises to hunt with common caliber rifles he takes his own wildcat caliber rifle on the hunt. He also gets caught up in the bigger trophy syndrome and insists on taking a second kudu because the first one was not big enough. He also tells about shooting the wrong species of antelope because he shot before asking the professional hunter about the animal. While the honesty is appreciated it does provide some value it does not make up for the other shortcomings.
