I also bought this snake to try to discourage those invasive squirrels from crawling into my car to chew on plastic and rubber components.
The snake may be working somewhat, but then again it may be the mothballs or Ropel doing the trick too.

The snake itself is not as realistic looking as I had hoped. It's glossier than a real snake and much stiffer. Permanently coiled, this fake snake can't be reshaped or repositioned. If it could be stretched to full length it might be more imposing or frightening. Upon closer examination, I must say that the painted markings and details on the head are quite good.

Though it's obviously a toy close-up, from a distance of six feet or more it could pass for a real snake. My two dogs don't like it, sniffing it warily and approaching it cautiously. I can only hope the squirrels are having the same reaction. Wouldn't it be ironic if I ond day found my scaresnake chewed to pieces by the mocking squirrels!

Very disappointing. The picture made the snake seem much larger. its actually coiled in about a 7" diameter... I expected more and would not have paid this much if I had seen it in person.

I use this fake snake as a bird deterrent on my apple tree. The woodpeckers were going a little too far. It looks like a real snake on the tree and yes, you'll do a double-take. You are supposed to move the snake around so that the birds don't get used to it. So far, so good. I'm hoping it will also work on the squirrels come harvest time.

These snakes are very lifelike. We know they're fake, but they still make us do a doubletake. We bought these to place under our vehicles and in the engine compartments to keep away squirrels that have been doing major damage. So far, the realistic snakes seem to be helping. Just be sure to warn your mechanic first if you decide to put these under the hood.

I was having a war with a local bird, which for a month had claimed my auto side-view mirror as his personal mating song & dance perch, leaving them covered in bird waste. I tried everything I could think of to keep it away: covering in plastic bags, water sprinklers, general yelling/waving. Nothing worked. Finally, I got the idea to lay a big, colorful snake on the top of the car as a reptilian scarecrow. After looking on Amazon, this was the most realistic one I found.

RESULT: best ten bucks I spent all summer. =)

I purchased this product to keep the squirrels out of my flower beds. My only problem was I only bought one the first time. So where ever the snake wasn't, the squirrels destroyed my flowers. I now have three of them. They are so realistic, visitors throw stones at them before they will walk up to my front porch. I move them around in the flower beds every three days or so. When I am working in the yard, I forget and have a scary moment when I see them out of the corner of my eye. When the sun shines on them and warms them up, they actually glisten and look even more realistic. Better than any spray or plastic owl I have ever tried.

Bought this to be part of our harvest fest haunted trail. I found it to be smaller than I imagined, but the markings were great! It likes to keep it's shape, but can be uncurled if held apart by a stump or tree or something.

I've found real snakes curled up under rocks in this position but as soon as I pick them up they quickly straighten up. This rubber snake, on the other hand, stays curled in this uncomfortable position forever, as fun as a snake hibernating for the winter. I wonder if a sharpened coat hanger carefully jammed down the center would make it a bit more poseable or just ruin it?

I bought this as a prank toy that I could leave laying around for family and friends to find. I am really disappointed by the way it looks. I thought it would be bigger and I thought it would look more realistic. I will still use it, but I doubt it will be reused or do a good job fooling anyone.
