Great toy - I had ordered these for party favors for my son's 7th birthday party.

These figures were a good size and had enough detail so they look realistic.

These little plastic figures are very well detailed considering their sizes, and my 4-year-old niece thinks they're wonderful. I bought them so she'd have something to play with when she visits (practically every day) and she prefers these small ones to a larger set I bought for the same reason. Some of the pieces are a bit distorted--a bit of extra plastic on a hoof, etc. I cut them away to make them stand up, and while the horses in particular are not very stable, my niece can set them all up before she knocks them down, so good enough. The dragon is her favorite and I have commenced to fear for it, but so far it's managed to survive the worst she's dished out. It's a surprising mix of medieval figures--all eight of the knights seem to come from different eras. The red figures seem to be from circa 1100, 1415, 1500 and 1550, while the blue are from circa 900, 1275, 1325 and 1450. My niece is a little too young to appreciate the differences in armor, but that's the reason I rated the educational value so high; with an older child one could actually show the evolution of armor from the Frankish period through the renaissance. An amazing feat with tiny plastic figures with only vaguely human faces.

Great toy - I had ordered these for party favors for my son's 7th birthday party. He was having a knight birthday party and when we brought out the party bags and the boys saw what was in them, they were so excited - to say the least! They loved them! One of the boys that got them was my other son and he played with them for 3 days straight. Great set for the price!

This exact same Safari Limited tube of knights was available locally at Michaels Craft Store for only $6.99 and there was no shipping charge. How is it that a "bricks-and-morter" store, with all its expenses and overhead can charge about 30% less than the cheapest vendors on the Internet? I would expect the opposite to be true. These cool little knights should be available for about $4.00 on the Internet & be eligible for super saver shipping. The greed continues. Caveat emptor.

As far as the figures go, they are nicely done. The painting is reasonably well done for a mass market item. The figures are on the "rubbery" side rather than the brittle side of plastic, which is a good thing. The swords, axes, spears, and banners will bend rather than break. The paint seems to be resiliant and impervious to the bending, but I wouldn't put it to a stress test. There is a nice assortment of figures including two horses/war ponies, a dragon, and a catapult. The set is designed to stir the imagination and I think it succeeds admirably. Safari Lmtd. is a good brand and I hope they continue to put out such excellent toys. If you haven't checked them out, they also offer pirates, James Town settlers, Powatan Indians, more dragons, Egyptian play sets, boats, planes, trains, farms, Wild West, dinosaurs, etc., and all at a similar quality and price. I highly recommend them.

This Knights and dragon toob from Safari has eight different knight figures about 2 inches tall. Two have horses as well. The small dragon and non-firing catapult round out this little playset as a great take-along toy. They are all nicely painted with blue or red trim on the knights so that they can be used for two different armies.

I ordered these to accompany the Melissa & Doug wooden castle I bought for my 5 yr old son for Christmas. It's been 6 mos now and he continually pulls the castle out of the closet, sets up the knights, horses and dragons and has battles for hours on end. I went to Michaels and bought a second tube of these so he could have a bigger "army." Simple, no-nonsense imagination fun.

The kids really enjoy these and were excited about the quantity but when they arrived the paint was already chipping off of them. I'd say these would be considered a good dollar store item but I don't think they are worth anymore than $8-$10 so they are a bit over priced.

If you have kids or yourself likes knights and dragons, this is a great set!! My son was thrilled when this item arrived. He LOVED the knights and wanted more! They are a perfect size for him and are very detailed! He enjoys having battles and having 2 different colored knights in there, he could battle them against each other!!

They were what I expected. Just your simple plastic figures. Some are hard to stand up.
