Product Description

The Shedding comb is an excellent tool for breaking up and removing mats. The special skip tooth design lifts out loose hair. The long teeth penetrate deep into the undercoat, while the Short teeth collect the loose hair. For heavily matted coats, use with a Safari rake or slicker brush.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Tool! October 19, 2007
This is a very sturdy tool and will probably last for ages. I have both a short and long haired cat, and it works wonders on both. Other brushes just weren't getting all the dead fur off the short hair or random mats out of the long hair, this one tool serves all my purposes. I've had it for a couple months and use it every few days. There is noticeably less fur on my furniture and rugs, and the cats seem to enjoy it. Their coats look and feel great. I am very pleased with this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding Comb March 8, 2007
By C. Moss
When you have a short hair cat, most often you can't tell how bad they are matting or shedding by just looking at them. A few light strokes of this comb and I peeled off tons of loose hair. Her coat looks fantastic and she danced around like she just got back from the beauty parlor.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product June 7, 2008

This is the perfect comb for my cat. She is a RagaMuffin and has very long silky fur which sheds. Also, when she grooms herself she ingests some fur and chokes. This comb removes lots and lots of loose fur, and most important, she really enjoys her grooming sessions.

I've been owned by two beautiful long-haired cats in twenty years, one a Chinchilla (i.e., the Fancy Feast cat's breed) & the other a purebred Maine Coon. Both cats required extensive combing, so I know my cat combs (I've owned five or six in my lifetime, and I have to say, I think this is overall the best). My first cat had to be combed daily, and had very fine but plentiful fur. He was a former show cat, before I bought him, so he was used to combing. My Maine Coon & current pet, on the other hand, has a silky but dense three-layer coat which sheds heavily in the springtime. She loves brushing, but hates combing. However, it has to be done once a week, or she'll get hairballs, and with my beige non-Stainmaster carpet, that's definitely no fun. Her undercoat alone is off the charts. She is thirty pounds & has more fur on her tail than some kinds of cats have over their whole bodies. Being so big because of the breed she is, possessing twenty sharp claws & a finely-honed set of four fangs expert at delivering a fatal bite to the jugular, my beloved cat is...ahem...a handful. I needed a lightweight but firm comb with good teeth in it. The last comb I had, previously used on my Chinchilla for years, my cat's fur literally laughed at, breaking two of the metal teeth off upon first usage. Not so with this comb- with it's long & short metal teeth intersperced closely together, it works great on dense Maine Coon furriness. My cat's fur is so long & thick that I wish all of the teeth were a little bit longer, just because the comb fills up SO fast with her fur. Because the teeth of the comb are so close together, it takes a little work to pull this baby bear's fur out of the comb each time it's full (which would be often).... Read more ›

5.0 out of 5 stars great product June 27, 2009

I really love this comb. It combs out the fur balls really well from my long haired cat. It's better than a brush. I highly recommend it to any one with a long haired cat. I like the way the fur doesn't fly around everywhere like when I use a brush. It stays confined to the comb. Very easy to run comb through the fur.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonder comb! June 10, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase
I'd purchased 6 other combs and brushes (different makes and models) before I came across this one, all of which did a poor to mediocre job of tending to my cats' grooming needs. I have two long haired and one short haired cat. This brush is wonderful for the long haired kitties, with instant and satisfactory results. It is not too pointed or sharp, and is easily cleaned. My short hair doesn't like to be left out of the loop, so I use it on her too. For grooming the short hair, the results are not as good as with a dense (slicker) brush, but she loves it none the less. I highly recommend this comb to anyone wanting a useful grooming tool for long haired cats.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not good for short hair cats. January 8, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase
Both of my cats are domestic short hairs, and this comb seems to be designed for much longer hair breads, which is not what it says in the description. I am rarely able to collect any of their loose hair with this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great on my fluffy, fuzzy Persian.
The only tool I've found to get through matts, digs deep and brushes them out easily. Highly recommend for thick, fuzzy coats. My Persian's favorite brush.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not good - cats short hair
I don't really know why I bought this (I think it was the wooden handle)
My cat's are short hair, and it doesn't work.
Plus they do not like it.
