Product Description

The Safariland Model 6378 Holster is a concealment version of the Automatic Locking System (ALS ) series holsters. Once the weapon is holstered, it "locks" into place, providing an extra measure of security from standard open top holsters. A simple straight up draw is possible once the ALS is de-activated by the thumb while obtaining a shooting grip. IDPA approved. The Model 6378 holster features an all-new injection molded paddle design that is highly concealable and rides close to body with a slightly forward weapon cant. It also comes standard with the 567BL belt loop, fitting 1.5" to 1.75" belt widths. Additionally, it features suede lining to help protect the gun's sights and finish, and its SafariLaminatestructure with wraparound design provides the strongest design combination available

Easy to draw and to re-holster.
BRAVO
I used to have a Safariland holster with the 'hood-style' retention system and this holster is much better.

I purchased this holster for my Glock 21 w/TLR-1s light, which it is made for. While the construction and the retention is very impressive, this thing is way to tight for the weapon. I'm unable to draw it when wearing. Tight!
Good luck trying to use the adjustment screws to make it better. I removed the one on the back entirely. It sticks out like a thumb, and I was unable to tell by adjusting it that it did anything at all. The other one, on the top, is as loose as it will go and still stay attached.
I can't see that any 'breaking in' will do any good. The material is very hard and does not give at all. I'm thinking of using heat to try to re-mold it a little. Not sure about that!
Overall I'm not very happy with it. Retention is great, but if you can't get to your weapon all is lost...
Nothing against Amazon here. Safariland needs to make some modifications to this model.

My Glock 21 fits perfect and I can quick draw pretty well only complaint is when I put my Streamlight TLR-2 in it would not go in! After some research I read to heat the Kadex up with hair drier for about 5 minutes and wrapped painters tape around my glock 21 barrel with my streamlight TLR-2 attached it went in perfectly, formed to my laser light, I put in the freezer for about 20 minutes to let cool and form and works perfect now!

I Love It. Fit my gen 4 Glock 21 with TLR-1 without any adjustments! So far I love this holster. Nice, quality construction, locking thumb button mechanism allows for more security. Comes with either a clip-on paddle or a belt loop paddle. Fits suggested firearms without any play. Nice quick and smooth draw. Worth the money.

I purchased this holster for my Glock 20SF Gen3 10mm auto pistol with attached Streamlight TLR-1 HL and/or TLR-1s weapon lights. I really like this holster, but give it only 3-1/2 out of five stars rather than 5 out of five due to three factors.

1) It has begun to wear off the Tenifer finish on my Glock at the muzzle end of the slide, this despite the holster's internal suede lining.
2) A person with very small hands/slender fingers could potentially pull your trigger while the pistol is fully holstered due to the space required to fit the attached weapon light. To negate this risk, I don't carry the Glock with a round chambered while using this holster.
3) The holster does not cover/protect my rear pistol sights as the Safariland ALS 6390 duty holster does.

This said, the 6378 fits my Glock 20SF with TLR-1 weapon light really well, my pistol does not rattle around at all when holstered, whether the weapon light is attached or not.

I have added the Safariland ALS Guard 6006-1 to this holster - installation took less than two minutes, thus this holster is now a retention level-two. I have to practice my draw more with this holster system than I did with my Blackhawk Serpa CQC holster, but with practice it has become almost second nature, and its really smooth. There is no "break-in" period for this holster system. Truth be told, I feel the ALS holster system is a lot safer and more secure than my Serpa CQC holster system, as anyone can easily access the pistol in the Serpa CQC due to the one release point (the trigger finger outside release button/lever) being located out opposite the wearer's body on the Serpa CQC.

I purchased this for a glock 20 SF with a surefire light. The weapon is secure with no "slop". The holster has some sort of thin foam to help protect the finish. I don't remember if it said or not, but it does have a thumb toggle to release the retention on the weapon. I am very happy with the product and may look at purchasing a second if I decide to remove my light. Also it was shipped on time and arrived within the specified timeline.

Well, for those of you wondering if this holster will work with TLR-3 instead of TLR-1, I have good news and bad news. Bad news first; uinfortunately, it doesn't seem to work with my gen4 glock 20 with the TLR-3 attached... Since the TLR-3 is just a shorter version of the TLR-1, I kind of hoped/expected that it would work, but I wasn't completely shocked when it didn't. I was a little dissapointed, however, that when trying to insert the gun with the admittedly wrong light attached into the holster (which caused the gun to get stuck) I actually ended up scratching my gun's slide pulling it out. Most a pity. However, I don't blame the holster for that one, since it cleary states it was designed for a specific light which unfortunately I don't own... The holster does fit the glock 20 just fine without the light. The good news is that the holster actually fits my glock 17 with the TLR-3 attached. There is a little too much friction (when inserting the gun) which causes the slide to inch backwards a bit.. but a little bit of pressure on the back of slide returns the gun to proper battery while in the holster. The glock 17 also rattles a little once in the holster, (a weird combination). The lock retains the 17 perfectly and it can be extracted reasonably easily as well despite the friction and does not seem to mar the gun. So that's clearly a plus.

Where I rightly ding this holster is that it seems really heavy. I don't know exactly how much it weighs but it is about as heavy as 1911 leather flap holster. That's dissapointing because most people buy glock 20's (as a hunting/camping/fishing/woods) gun because they are so light weight compared to other sufficiently powerful handguns.
