This review is from: Safavieh CL362A-9 Classics Collection Handmade Burgundy and Navy Wool Area Rug, 8-Feet 3-Inch by 11-Feet (Misc.)
This carpet is ok. We bought a cheaper carpet because we have a newborn and this was for the dining room. We didn't want to have an expensive carpet in an area where food would be constantly dropped on it. The carpet feels thick and has not curled. We have a carpet pad under it to keep it from sliding and there is a table on top. It has 2 main quality issues. First, it sheds like crazy. We have a bagless vacuum and it fills the debris holder with bits of the carpet every single time we've vacuumed. Even though we make sure to vacuum with the unit on high, on the edges, where the vacuum rolls off the carpet, the carpet started falling apart. We noticed this early on and have learned not to allow the vacuum to go over the side so that the spinning brush does not rip at the carpet but we have a few patches balding. Second, the carpet was full of sand when it arrived. We've vacuumed it over 10 times already and each time we pull a lot of sand out. We vacuum underneath and then lay the carpet back down but if you were to lift it up again, more sand would be visible on the hardwood floor underneath. We should take this carpet out and beat it but we don't have a place to do that. We thought that vacuuming it thoroughly over and over would help but so far we've not managed to get all the extremely find bits of sand out. It's like a sand dust not grains of sand you might see on the beach. As for the color, the red is a maroon and the blue is a dark navy blue. We thought that the red would be more of a red that matches other reds sold by this same manufacturer but this carpet is maroon vs. a true red. If you have it in an area that does not get much use, it's fine. If you walk on it a lot, you'll make fuzzballs that need vacuumed and vacuuming it makes it fall apart.
