Very sturdy and very well made, excellent price for the quality you receive
The seat is thin, thin cheap metal.
The "leather" is a glued on piece of plastic that I can just see quickly peeling up, curling and being an eyesore.
Moving the seat up is clunky and a work out. It rotates on a big cheap "screw."
The entire thing is hollow and cheap.
They were a huge disappointment.
And did I mention cheap?
I'm knocking one star off because mine came dented even though the original packaging appeared to be intact. I was able to hammer it out. I bought this for simple durability and use at a workbench, so appearance wasn't a concern.
The chair is heavier than it looks, and takes both hands to pick up and move around. (I am a slight-framed female.) It is sturdy and does not "wobble" at all. The back does not adjust, just stays straight. The chair height is raised and lowered by a screwing action, around a thick metal screw that turns easily, so there is no "accidental lowering" etc. The chair is not padded in the seat area, so is hard, but not really unpleasant once you're used to it, like sitting on a bench. It has only a small round leather surface. I don't know if it is real leather, but the back is padded with the same material, and there are a few short strands of "string" coming from the seam, which makes me suspect it's not. (We've had this chair for years). The back is padded thinly but adequately (just enough), and supports the back in the perfect spot. Finally, the feet have rubber "shoes" so the chair doesn't slide around.
I would give the chair 5 stars overall, but I took one star away because the listing describes the chair as having a "leather" component, which I don't think is true. Otherwise this is a heavy, sturdy chair that has been in the department for years, and the only wear it's showing is the little "strings" coming from the padded back seams.

Practical useful stool that fits right into our modern kitchen without looking chintzy or being over priced and too contemporary.Published on April 8, 2013 by Schnoor5
It's an amazing product with good finishing.
However it arrived with a dented base.
The item is a classic industrial piece.
