Debra Holtzman is an internationally acclaimed child safety and health expert, an award-winning parenting author, and a busy mom. She has a law degree, an M.A. in occupational health and safety, a B.A. in communications and over fifteen years experience in the child safety and health field. She was named an "Everyday Hero" by Reader's Digest and a "Woman Making a Difference" by Family Circle Magazine.

Debra has made hundreds of media appearances including NBC's Today Show, Weekend Today, ABC World News with Diane Sawyer, Dateline NBC, The Daily Buzz, ABC Morning News, MSNBC, CNBC, Martha Stewart Living Radio, Washington Post, People, Parents Magazine, Us magazine, Star Magazine and USA Weekend Magazine. She was the official on-camera baby safety expert for the popular weekly Discovery Health series, "Make Room for Baby". This book has been a real gem for my wife and I. We have learned things that we would have never thought of had it not been for The Safe Baby. Little things like avoiding the microwave for heating baby foods was great to read about in this book. It takes many different pieces of information to insure a healthy and happy baby and all of them are included in this precious book. May you enjoy it and may your child be benefited from it.

Safe Baby is a wonderful book chock-full of helpfull tips for parents. I especially recommend the chapter on emergenies which covers everything from what to have in a first aid kit to what to do in the event of a natural disaster. Holtzman also has a great chapter on holidays. Many things she pointed out one might not think of so it was good to read and be able to keep them in the back of my mind. In my opinion, the advice in Safe Baby is key for every parent.

My sister got married a week ago in Charlotte, and I was really worried about traveling with my five month old daughter. I've had the Safe Baby for a while, but was surprised to find that there was a section I had always skipped: travel safety. This book is just so well-rounded. It fits my life and has practical advice on safety and on how to keep baby happy.
