This is the second book I have read by Judith Arnold and it is another heartwarming story of family, love and loss. Not only is this story engaging and hard to put down, it carries wonderful inspiration and hope for love in marriage. I am so glad I found this author as her writing is prolific and there are many new adventures to enjoy. Highly recommend!

For Kip Stroud and Shelley Ballard, falling in love isn't a single moment. Starting from the summer when they were eight years old and Kip showed Shelley a dead snake, their relationship shifts, stretches and strengthens over two decades. In a compelling departure, readers first get to experience the foundation of that love. Kip and Shelley have spent their childhood summers on Rhode Island's Block Island as best friends. In the summer when they're 15 they are both changing -- but life changes even faster for Shelley. And it is 12 more years before they come together again. By then, each has faced tragedies, difficulties and changes. Each has grown up. Can the love of innocence they once shared also grow up? Can they provide a safe harbor for each other's heart? Judith Arnold's SAFE HARBOR explores the epochs of the growing love between Kip and Shelley, carrying readers along for each stop in the fascinating journey.

What can i say?? Arnold will never stop surprising me. This book is written in a way, that you only find out what the others feeling, after too much time has passed. It bring a smile upon your face, and tears in your eyes. It make your heart swell, and feel everything the heroin is feeling. Recommend it to everyone that land their hands on them.

What I liked about this book was it spanned from hero and heroines childhood. It was different but I enjoyed that. But this book was kind of mediocre to me. Maybe it was just the romance was flip floppy. Dont get me wrong, it was alright but I skipped a lot of it because it was predictable. I need twists and turns.

Kip and Shelley have know each other as friends for most of their lives. Their story starts as, as teenagers, they begin to grow of childhood and start dealing with adult feelings. Unfortunately, this same summer, Shelley is thrown into a very adult world of divorce, deception and betrayal. The story then picks up fifteen-years later and we discover that Kip also has a past to overcome. The friendship is the corner stone Kip uses to build back his life. And still, something is missing. This is a beautiful romance, with believable characters in real-life situation. It is sweet without being cloying. I especially liked that the problems are not resolved overnight and that the author allowed the passage of time to heal some wounds. I did not find the formating distracting but noted a few spelling and grammar mistakes. I agree with the other reviewers that Kindle editing should be as good as a paper book. Still, don't let format keep you from enjoying this book.

I'm not much of a reader... but I couldn't put it down. I just had to know how it was going to end! I guess I'm a hopeless romantic at heart!

Rated 5 stars"Captivating! Touching love-story! Friends who become lovers...can their friendship survive? Like-able main characters. Summer romance and youth coming of age - torn apart by circumstances only to find either other again after 12 years. Picked it up after completing a book just to get a feel if it was worth reading next. Once I started I couldn't put it down.

Very lovely and engaging story, about a true love which surmounts life's hardships. Terrific! The Kindle format is a less than perfect type, but the story is soooo well worth it. Ignore the format and lose yourself in the book. You won't regret it!
