Quite simply put, the Crane Wives are the vanguard of the new generation of blues, folk, and anything in the middle. Between haunting three-part harmonies, thunderous drums, and potentially the most addictive banjo you have ever heard this new band out of Grand Rapids, MI has what it takes to help bring folk into the 21st century.

This album truly is unique, yet accessible. From your very first listen you'll be amazed at the vocal harmonies, musicianship, and production quality generated from this independent release. To say that this band has the potential to go places is an understatement. 'Safe Ship, Harbored' blends an eclectic folk sound with mainstream appeal. I can not wait to see what this band does next!

"Safe Ship, Harbored" by The Crane Wives is one of those rare recordings that jumps out of your speakers with contagious melodies, intelligent lyrics and tight soaring harmonies. Kudos to the engineers of this recording, too, for capturing the high energy and just plain fun of this group. It's easy to imagine what their live performances would be like. Eagerly anticipating more from The Crane Wives!

A stunning opening
Great harmonies, lyrics, and some awesome banjo solos. If you want something different and to support the indie music scene, snatch a copy of this.
