I love that these cups are stainless steel, easy to clean, no seams for debris to hide in.
come with fantastic tools to be sippy cups or straws. NO BPA or any of the other plastic chemicals, dishwasher safe.

This is the newer generation of this Safe Sippy and it seems ok to me! A lot of reviews for the earlier version of this cup said they leaked, but I haven't had that issue (yet). That being said, I don't know how kid-friendly this cup is. My daughter is only 8 months and can understand the concept of a cup, but this one eludes her. I'm holding out hope that she will figure out the straw-like opening this sippy sports, which is supposed to be the best kind for developing jaws and such. The cup comes with three adapters- one for a straw for older kids, one for a regular valve for younger kids (leaks a bit, but just what is left in the straw portion of the mouthpiece- not a continuous stream of fluid), and a stopper for travel. Supposedly everything is BPA-free. There is also a removable cover and handles, and the silicone sleeve comes off if you want to wash either the bottle or cover. All in all, good quality, but maybe for slightly older kids who know what straws are about.

Great straw sippy,

I am so thrilled with this cup! I bought it when my son was six months old and we were starting sippy cups. I liked that it was stainless steel, with handles and an insulating cover and was excited that it came with several different valves (for different flow speeds) and a straw. At first he wouldn't use it because of the hard plastic top and the large size made it a little heavy when filled with liquid. I put it up and reintroduced it when he was 15 months - and he loved it! He really prefers straws to "sipping" so I use the straw in conjunction with the light orange (open) valve and that's been perfect for him.
I've never had a problem getting the pieces together and the top on securely. You don't have to have it screwed into a "marked" positon like some sippies that have to be aligned to be leak proof. It only leaks when he bangs it upside down, and even then it's more of a slow drip. He has tossed it on the floor, hurled it onto concrete sidewalks, and even thrown it across the room with barely a scratch to show for it. This has been our everyday, everywhere go-to cup for the past three months and is still in perfect condition. I'm buying three more Safe Sippy's today, and I imagine they will still be in his hands when he's old enough for the soccer field!

So I researched far & wide and have a few hand me down sippy cups and decided to buy this cup. even at 6 months my son seems to have an easier job using this cup, it's a lot smaller than it looks, which is good, he can hold it by himself and seems to be able to suck out the liquids with ease but no spillage. I like that a straw comes with it for later, cover & the stainless / BPA free / dishwasher safe aspects not to mention it's "cool looking". I do try to wash it after every use per other reviews, but just plan to buy a couple of them in different colors & put in dishwasher daily & rotate. I don't think any cup should sit out in water for a long time no matter who makes it / what its made of / how many parts & we take apart all his bottles so taking apart his cup for washing is not a big deal, doesn't take long at all.

Our DS loves these cups and we really like how they transition from sippy to straw (for night and day). People have complained that the cups smell after a while, but we just sprinkle baking soda on the parts and the lid, spray some vinegar on them, let the chemical reaction occur and scrub and rinse. We boil them too occasionally. Nothing like a natural cleaner. The smell goes away instantly. We'll replace ALL the kid cups with the safe sippy.

I own two of Safe Sippy II: pink and green. Colors are bright; cup is sturdy and easy to clean. It is easy for my daughter to use it, so we skipped sippy cup stage and went straight to straw cup option thanks to Safe Sippy II. Worth the price!

Excellent, excellent sippy cup,
This review is from: The Safe Sippy 2 2-in-1 Sippy to Straw Bottle, Pink (Baby Product)
I've had two Safe Sippy cups for more than two years each now, I absolutely love them! I wanted something with as much stainless steel as possible, and the previous Thermos Fogo cup was too fat, squat, and hard to clean. I came across the Safe Sippy cup based on a review on Slate, and have been extremely satisfied. My older child didn't need the leakproof mechanism at this point, so I took it out, along with the handles for her cup; I did the same with the "starter sippy cup" for my younger child. The cups, plastic top, and inner O ring are very easy to clean. My only minor complaint is the silicone sleeve, which does a good job of providing some insulation for cold milk, and allows for cute one-handed side-of-the-face drinking (kind of like a really, really fat cigar). However, inevitably moisture gets in between it and the steel cup itself, leading to mildew. Because the cups themselves were holding up so well, I e-mailed customer service inquiring about where to buy the sleeves alone. They mailed me two new sleeves free of charge!
This is the only cup that they each will need until they transition to open cups.

We love the Safe Sippy Bottle. Great design and our kiddo took right too it when we introduced it to him at 10 months old. The only issue I have with the Safe Sippy is that it is difficult to clean. I had to purchase brushes to do so. Instructions on how to clean or maybe including a special brush for cleaning purposes would be helpful. Other than that complaint, we're happy. Oh and it doesn't spill! A pus since our little guy is always trying to pour the water out...

Got this cup after trying several others and not being happy with their quality or amount of fluid they leaked. Daughter was never a bottle baby so did not really get the whole sippy cup concept and love the fact that this one comes with the option of either sippy cup or straw. Changed her over to straw at 9 months and instantly she started drinking more water. Bought another one the same day. Really durable and will be a cup we have for a long time.
