If drug use and promiscuous behavior are a problem for you, you will not enjoy this book. 

I encourage you to read the sample or the free "Beginning" before purchasing the book based on reviews. My good reviews are all genuine as far as I know (no sockpuppets, no friends or family reviews, no paid reviews) but that doesn't mean this book is for everyone. Although I've tried to keep my price low for a story of this length, it's still a lot of money to some people. Please read the sample before blindly purchasing the book. 

 

The heroine, Susie, is described by many as a "slut" or an "anti-heroine." To some, "slut" is a derogatory term. To others, it's simply a definition.  Regardless, I stand behind Susie 100%. She's the woman I set out to write. She's not perfect but she still finds unconditional love. 

To those who want more of this story: I have sequels planned for some of the other characters. Susie's relationship with her family, as well as key events between the ending and epilogue of Safe With Me will be better fleshed out through the eyes of other characters who have interesting stories of their own. A non-erotic sequel titled "Matt & Daisy" is planned for early 2013, with possibly more sequels to follow. I am also working on a non-erotic prequel that will shed light on Susie's family history and why she pushes Tyler away. 

At present, I'm working on books under other pen names that are more in line with the expectations of "mainstream romance." My heart's desire is to write more books like Safe With Me, and those are also in progress.

BRIEF SUMMARY
Tyler is 26 years old and in college. One day he meets Susie who is 25 years old and also goes to the same college as Tyler. He meets Susie and is immediately attracted to her; while having a conversation and a study session with Susie, it quickly became more by the end of the evening. After this encounter, Susie immediately puts her guard up towards Tyler letting him know that she doesn't do boyfriends. The days that follows Susie and Tyler's encounters, it's clear Susie is secretive and doesn't reveals much about herself, this drives Tyler crazy as he wants a relationship with Susie and becomes so engross and obsessive about her. Volumes 1-6 shows the journey of Tyler and Susie's erotic affair and sometimes strange relationship as Tyler tries to get closer and Susie tries to leave her barriers up with a secret she is trying hard to conceal.

THOUGHTS

I don't like to compare my books in reviews by over shadowing it with other author's work, but I did ask myself, could this be the next `Beautiful Disaster' and `Fifty Shades of Grey'?

I started reading this series in July of 2011, but decided to reread the whole series 1 through 5 to prepare myself for part 6. I forgot how good this series was for me. My comparisons to both books above gave me the same personal excitement while reading this series again. It has a college feel, someone with a past they want hidden that prevents them from fully giving, an obsession, full blown erotica scenes and a bit of spanking.

In `Safe With Me' the characters were interesting and not just Tyler and Susie. The friends and roommates definitely added fun while experiencing their college experience. In the beginning, Tyler wasn't your super controlling alpha male; however, he has an obsession with Susie. As the story unfolds we start seeing Tyler become more confident by being more aggressive while trying to get what he wants from Susie. In the beginning Susie was the dominant of the two, but later the tables turn and we view Tyler's aggressiveness towards her.

I have to say, Susie personally, drove me nuts with her secrets, she was like Fort Knox, and she would not crack to reveal anything about herself. Tyler gets the help of Joan, Susie's best friend/more-ish (hehehe) to try and get closer to Susie. Towards the end I think all of Susie's friends are trying to figure out what she is hiding and who is she really. Throughout the book, I was routing for Tyler, he is so sweet and sexy from his description. Also, the steamy erotica aspect of this book does not disappoint; I think part 4 was definitely the peak of the erotica between Tyler and Susie.

I was a little nervous about reading this book..I had just finished the "Fifty Shades" trilogy (which was fantastic by the way)and didn't think I could find a book so soon that I would enjoy..I took a chance on "Safe w/ Me" ..I was pleasantyly surprised...It takes place in college so, some of the lines are a little cheesy, but I soon found myself invested in the characters..I downloaded Parts 1-7..Part 8 is supposed to be out soon..I HOPE..This book is sweet, laugh out loud funny and has some really HOT sex scenes..I definetly recommend it...

This is my first book by Shaina Richmond. I will definitely read more of her work. I was blown away with the writing. I loved hearing the story from different points of view. It gives the story so much more depth and you find out more about the characters. I love Susie because I too am not a stick figure kind of girl. I'm rooting for Tyler and Susie. I knew it was good because I could not put it down. The emotions each character showed and each battle Tyler and Susie struggled through was described so well you could really imagine it happening right before your eyes. I felt so connected to them. They were both truly so great, and belonged to each other. I now have the complete book and will now go back and re-read it again and again.
