So after reading all the other reviews about them being made cheaply and not fitting over the car seats, I ordered them anyway! I am SO HAPPY that I ignored the reviews and got them! I have a 2010 Chevy Tahoe LTZ and they fit perfectly over my seat. However, I can see how they would rip if you pull on them too hard when you are slipping them over the seat. I just did...

3.0 out of 5 stars OK but with design flaws
The mats come with two elastic bands, top one goes around the head restraint, and the bottom one is supposed to go around the car seat back. The top one is too long, whereas the bottom one is too short meaning it can never fit a reasonable car seat. I had to tuck it in the seatback pocket almost defeating the purpose of a kick mat.

Let me start with the fact that these are very well made, and the fabric is nice. IF these work for your car, I would recommend them. But the versatility of the product makes me have to put it down to a two (possibly even a one).

This fabric has an elastic band that slides over the seat (Elastic strap is on the driver's side of the seat). At the top of the seat it has a velcro strap that goes around the head rest.

These will NOT work if your seat belt is connected to your seat. That was the case with my Suburban. My parent's GMC Acadia also have the same type of seat. The elastic strap slips over the seat belt, leaving it unable to be pulled out.

These will also NOT work if you have a nice lumbar support at the bottom of the seat. This was the case with our Jeep. The seat was too thick for the strap to work. Once the elastic was pulled down it protruded and actually bothered me when I sat in the seat.

The other thing that I didn't love was that it wasn't quite long enough, so some of my taller kids that still have swinging feet, still kick the bottom of the seat. The mat can only go down as long as the elastic on the other side of the seat can go down. Our seat had another four inches below that point.

If I were to redesign this, I would make it long enough for the whole back of the seat, and have velcro straps that go around the bottom corners of the seat where the seat bolts to the floor (legs of the seat). This would allow it to be much more versatile. Again, the material and construction are nice, but the fact that so many cars can not utilize this product makes me have to rate it low.

I have a 2010 Chevy Tahoe LTZ and they fit perfectly over my seat. However, I can see how they would rip if you pull on them too hard when you are slipping them over the seat. I just did it gently and worked each side until it went all the way down. The reviews are right...the tops are a little loose around the head rest but if you put the head rest down you will never notice. You get 2 of these for 11 dollars so really how can you go wrong!! I would definately recommend these to anyone with little kids in the back seat!

4.0 out of 5 stars worth the money, June 27, 2010

I bought this item so that when my child puts his feet up against the back of the seats it will help from being scuffed and keep it cleaner. I have been using this for roughly a month now and must say that it is paying off. For the money you can't beat it. The major drawback is that it covers up the seatback pocket. Also, it does not always stay snug and tends to loosen up a little. But for $[...] you can't beat it and plus you get two of them so it's really a no-brainer.

We bought these mats prior to winter 2009/2010, and now, 9 months later, they are still in the same shape as when they were new. My 4 year old was a chronic seat kicker, and just the summer dirt was bad enough. The thought of what winter muck would do to my seat backs made me quick to try these mats out, and I am glad I did. For the price, they are a steal ! Initially, they did seem flimsy (the material is quite thin), but as I've mentioned, they held up through the winter and beyond perfectly, and will hopefully continue to do so.

I have an SUV (Honda Pilot) which has pretty substantial seats, and had no problems with the bottom elastic band fitting over my seats. The upper strap that goes around/under the head rests is adjustable with Velcro, however it didn't adjust quite small enough for me. This wasn't a big issue for me, it only meant that the top of the mat wasn't flush with the seat, but hung away from the seat about an inch, which does not affect it's performance at all. If you have a child that isn't in a 5-point harness and is a "grabber," I suppose this could be a temptation to pull on it, but that never happened to me (just mentioning it in case you have a grabby kid !). Again, my seats are pretty big, but the cover was adequately long, going almost all the way to the bottom of my seats, which was more than long enough for my 4 year old's leg reach.

I would recommend this product to anyone needing mats. It's worked well for us, and is a real bargain !

2.0 out of 5 stars Don't Waste Your Money! Get the Rover., January 16, 2011

I wanted to like these seat protectors because of the price; however, I was back at Amazon buying the more expensive version two months after purchasing these for my van. The mats do not protect the sides of the seats very well, but they also aren't very sturdy. After only a couple of weeks, the seat protector started to bend in at the top so that the bar on the back of the seat was exposed on either side. This was problematic because my three-year-old likes to rest his feet on this bar, and this was one of the reasons I needed a seat protector! Also, the only thing keeping this on the seat was a strip of velcro that goes around the headrest of the seat, which also started to loosen with ordinary wear. My kids and I are not hard on our possessions -- this product is just not made very well. It's true that you get what you pay for. I bought a more expensive version (made by Rover), and I am SO happy with that one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to Install and Remove, September 3, 2011

I purchased a new Toyota Sienna and being as it would not only be used for family use but also for my family childcare home I wanted to keep it as clean as possible. Little feet always manage to find their way onto the back of the seats of any vehicle so I purchased 2 sets of these kick mats. Installing them was a breeze and took me less than 10 minutes to install all four mats. They've saved my seats from mud and dirt and are extremely easy to wipe down and clean. I like that although they cover the pockets in the back of the seats I can still reach behind the kick mat to insert and remove things from the pockets. Great value for the money.

These are exactly what I wanted. They are nice and thin, but sturdy. Didn't want the plastic ones because they would just crack. It fits fine over the car seats in both a Chevy Traverse and Ford Explorer. This item does not have pockets if that's what you are looking for. It was an added plus that it was a 2 pack, one for my vehicle and one for my husbands.

I ordered the 2-Pack Kick Mats for our new KIA Sorento. We often have our grandchildren in our car and wanted to protect the backs of the cloth seats, especially the one in front of the 3 year old's car seat. They were easy to install; the elastic slips over the front seat to hold the bottom of the kick-mat in place. The top has velcro strips that fasten around the head rest. They work great. It may be better for some if they had pockets since they cover up the pockets on the back of the seat. We don't use the pockets but some folks may.

I bought these to help keep the backs of my front car seats clean. When the weather gets snowy or rainy, little shoes can really create works of art on the back of the seats. These mats are easy to clean up. A good buy.
