5.0 out of 5 stars Saved my ficus.
My poor ficus was being eaten by mealybugs and I didn't know what the problem was for a long time. After doing some research, I found this product. I used it a couple of times, but my plant was pretty infested, so it didn't eradicate them right away. You need to do subsequent treatments once a week. I finally trimmed the heck out of it and sprayed again. So far, so good...

2.0 out of 5 stars Killed my Plants!
I've never used chemicals for my plants so I was very careful with this product. I like to keep my small garden 100% organic. I had problem with spider mites and my traditional methods didn't work well so I decide to buy something for organic gardening.

This spray killed 3 of my plants!! Leaves turned black and dry after few hours I sprayed them!!!I don't...

This product works great and is safe on plants and vegetables. Will not harm humans or pets. Because it is premixed it does not last long I reccomend the concentrate as it lasts a lot longer with you adding a small amount of the product and mixing with water. Great product and it really work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Benign Insect Killer, May 27, 2010

I've used insect killing soap for at least five years, this being the second year I've used the Safer brand. This product is a good choice for those gardeners who don't like using toxic chemicals that may leave behind residual ingredients harmful to birds, pets and groundwater.

I've used the Safer successfully on roses, vines, tomato plants, and potato plants. The product label says that Safer can be used within one day of harvest. Once we had a wasp building a nest on our front porch and a freaked out Mrs. Spudman insisted I do something. A bottle of Safer just happened to be on the porch so I sprayed the hornet with the Killing Soap. Within a minute the hornet was dead. On the same porch we also had a horde of ants coming up through a joint. Again I doused the little pests with the insecticical soap and killed hundreds of them within seconds. When another horde appeared a few days later, they got the same treatment.

When using the Safer soap, be sure to wet the leaves thoroughly above and under. If possible spray directly on the insect for better results. Last year when we had an infestation of gypsy moth caterpillars, direct shots of insect killing soap made short work of hundreds of those leaf devouring pests.

5.0 out of 5 stars Safe and VERY EFFECTIVE!!!, March 18, 2011

This review is from: Safer Brand 5110 Insect Killing Soap - 32-Ounce Spray (Lawn & Patio)
I had an infestation of aphids on my water plants that I have in my greenhouse. I was worried about spraying them because they are planted in the tank I use as a filter for my aquarium. But since it was safe I chanced it. Now when I say I had an infestation I mean, I've never seen so many aphids! they were killing my Water hyacinth really fast! I sprayed VERY liberally and hope for the best. I know for a fact I got a lot in the water. Overnight the aphids were ALL DEAD!!! I couldn't believe it! every single one was frozen where it was. This spray like stuck them to the leaf and killed them. Its been a week since I've sprayed and they are all still dead and the fish are just fine and so are all of my aquarium plants and other plants I sprayed in the green house! I love this stuff!!!

I've been using soap solution, but that dries out the leaves, and the scale comes back. Used this and scales dropped that afternoon, haven't come back, no harm to the leaves,

At least shipping was fast - that's why 2 stars ...

2.0 out of 5 stars The bottle's sprayer is not as good as other sprayer brand's bottles, October 5, 2011

When spraying poison on plants, it's important to be able to evenly cover the plants while not getting a whiff of the insecticide yourself.
I have used several brands of insecticide spray, and found this bottle's sprayer to be of the lowest quality. It doesn't matter what the quality of the insecticide is if you cannot keep it out of your own face, and at the same time cover the plants evenly.
I tried both the spray and the stream mode, and found neither to be as good as the spray and stream on other sprayers.
I went to Home Depot and bought the Ortho Elementals, and the bottle sprayer is such higher quality! I am easily able to spray the plants, and it doesn't create a mist that blows around randomly in the wind.

The product worked well, I could get rid of red mites on my roses. Mites are difficult to get rid of, but after several treatments the roses were fine.
Unfortunately, after a month mites came back, but by that time the product was already over. I used another soap, and finally the plants look good.

1.0 out of 5 stars KILLS EVERYTHING-DONT BUY--POISON, June 27, 2011
This review is from: Safer Brand 5110 Insect Killing Soap - 32-Ounce Spray (Lawn & Patio)
Horrible READ LABEL --
IT WILL KILL EVERYTHING AROUND YOU.
This poison is NOT "Safe" in any way.
Company REFUSES to give refund and will
charge you twice what you pay for product
for shipping. 3 days later you receive this
poison in the box surrounded by enough
packaging so it won't break and cause
people to be killed. Don't know how this
can be shipped in the mail.
Label says it will kill you, your bugs,
your family, every fish, frog, lizard in your area.
You can't breathe it, get it on your hands,
wash your clothes, wear a breathing apparatus
or you will DIE spraying it.
It will KILL your pets and kids.
But if you wash it off with water it's harmless???
