I received this product a little over two weeks ago specifically to try and review. It arrived at a good time as I had been noticing that some of my pepper and eggplant plants had been getting little holes in them. I am more of an organic type of gardener and I often take the "pick and squish" method of removing pests. I did not see any discernible bugs however so I decided to try the Safer brand spray. I set up a 3 way experiment. On one third of the plants I sprayed the Safer EndALL Insect Killer making sure I followed the application directions carefully, one third received treatment from a competing spray I have used on and off successfully over the years and on the final third I used a mixture of cayenne and garlic in water.

After 3 days I noticed that the plants I had used the cayenne and garlic mixture were looking better with new leaf growths not exhibiting any holes. The ones that were treated with the competing spray looked alright as well but the ones that had been sprayed with Safer's EndALL actually looked burnt! I was astonished. So, I looked up the ingredients.

Active Ingredients: BY WT.
Potassium Salt of Fatty Acids 1.000%
Clarified Hydrophobic Extract of Neem Oil 0.900%
Pyrethrins 0.012%

Other (inert) 98.088%

Now, we all know the majority of this product (the 98%) is probably water and other binders. But I was not familiar with the Potassium Salt of Fatty Acids so in my research this is what I found per the National Pesticides Telecommunications Network:

Potassium Salt of Fatty Acids are produced by adding Potassium Hydroxide to fatty acids found in animal fats and plant oils. Fatty acids are extracted from coconut, palm, olive, castor and cottenseed plants to make this active ingredient.

Part of organic gardening is tolerating a few insects, since many of them are actually beneficial. For bigger troublesome insects like caterpillars just removing them by hand is probably best and easiest. But every now and then some of the smaller insects will get out of control and threaten your garden. When that happens you can either let your garden get destroyed, use conventional pesticides, or now you can apply an organic pesticide.

This does seem to be the best organic pesticide I've seen. It does what it says it will on all the insects I've tried it on. It also does it in a manner that is relatively safe to humans and is certainly organic. So while the hard core organic gardener in me doesn't like to admit to using insecticides this one is one I plan to buy again myself and use from time to time to keep some of the nasties in check.

I am sure this product is likely much safer for the environment, hopefully safer for "critters" ( I value the toads, lizards, snakes, etc on my property) as well as our companion animals (pets to us old guys). However...I like to see the insects die when I spray them, you know, die within minutes or so. I don't want to wait around for hours, or days for them to die. I want death to come swift to the carpenter ants, the stink bugs, and so forth that live on my house, and on plants around my house. I prefer for them to die quickly with no lethal dose of poison in their little corpses to kill the lizards etc.

I have sprayed this product on large wads of carpenter ants and they acted like they were taking a shower of fresh spring rainwater. Stink bugs just moved away a bit when sprayed. I at least want the insects to wobble and act crippled when they walk away, and die within a short time. I am old and can't wait forever for these bugs to die. I don't even buy green bananas.

A couple of more gripes from this old coot...the fold out instructions on the side of the spray bottle....granted all the pest control people do it this way..but come on guys....think out of the box. When you open the fold out instructions (yes I did and read them) they are then flopping all around, getting in the way, can't be secured to the bottle again with anything provided on the bottle. My homegrown solution was to use a rubber band to hold the fold out instructions onto the bottle so they don't accordian out while in use or on the shelf. Also..the tiny lettering on the spray nozzle...you have a choice of four: OFF, SPRAY, OFF, STREAM. the instructions are so small, us old guys can't read them (the color is same as background) and if someone takes a guess and twists one way to say Stream..

I've been using this on my deck garden and it works quite well. Doesn't affect the Japanese Beetles though. You will need another spray for those rascals. Overall, I highly recommend.

My yard was infested with Japanese beetles. They were all over my dogwood bush, sand cherry, and pole beans. But in particular they were covering my poor apple saplings and putting them in danger of being stripped bare.

I bought this particular product based on the fact that it contains 3 different, safe ingredients (potassium salts, neem oil, and pyrethrin), two of which should be effective on the beetles in question. I have also had good results with the Safer brand in the past. I also liked that name "End All" implied the impending genocide of these pests.

I applied this at dusk, according to the directions, and didn't "soak" the leaves too heavily. The beetles did not die instantly, but I knew not to expect this. So I waited until the next morning, when I normally leave for work and give a good shake to my apple trees to at least interrupt their feasting. I instead found that there were maybe only two beetles to shake off. The rest were GONE! MY TREES ARE SAVED!
