Safer Brand Tomato & Vegetable Insect Killer
The Safer Way to Protect Your Edibles
Safer Brand Tomato & Vegetable Insect Killer is the perfect solution for preventing damage to tomato and vegetable crops. Powerful and natural ingredients target a variety of plant-eating insects and kill them on contact, while keeping your edible plants safe, organic and full of flavor.
The Top Choice for Organic Gardeners
With Safer Brand Tomato & Vegetable Insect Killer, you can avoid applying harmful synthetic chemicals on your food plants without sacrificing an ounce of protection. OMRI listed and approved for organic gardening, this spray can be applied with confidence that it will not harm the environment, your plants or your family. It’s residue-free and breaks down quickly so that you can protect your precious tomatoes, cabbage, cucumbers and squash up until the day you harvest them.
Tough on Insects, Gentile on Your Plants
This formula is able to kill destructive insects without harming your plants thanks to natural, plant-derived ingredients that target an insect’s biology. Pyrethrins, which are naturally occurring insecticides found in flowers, penetrate the nervous system of insects to weaken them. Meanwhile, potassium salts of fatty acids - elements often extracted from food plants - effectively penetrate their cell walls causing lethal dehydration. Just spray at the first signs of an infestation.
Spray Directly Onto Vegetables Including:
Defend tomatoes from destructive aphids, hornworms and whiteflies.
Protect green veggies like lettuce, brussel sprouts, kale and broccoli from loopers, cabbageworms and more.
Preserve a variety of vegetable fruits like peppers, cucumbers, squash and eggplants from beetles, worms and grubs.
Legumes, Tubers and More
Safeguard a range of other susceptible crops like beans and potatoes from the most persistent and damaging pests.
The Benefits of Organic Gardening
Besides preventing the harmful effects caused by synthetic chemicals, organic gardening offers a host of additional economic and health benefits. An organic regimen saves money in the long run by helping to create sustainable gardens that produce greater yields, reducing the need for fertilizers and pest controls over time. Furthermore, increased organic matter in your soil reduces erosion and conserves water, and organic produce is more flavorful and nutrient-dense. Because Safer products are third-party endorsed for use in organic gardening - both by OMRI and the USDA - you can be sure that you are using the healthiest and most economical solutions for you, your plants and your family.

We have many veggie gardens around the house and the largest is about 25' X 25'. We have major problems with the cucumber beetle and sometimes the tomato hornworm. When I see those bag guys, I like to zap them quick. Often I don't have time to mix up a batch of spray for a thorough job, so I use this product. Sometimes I can't use the big sprayer because the wind is blowing too hard--this little sprayer bottle is handy to have at those times, too, because you can get right down close to the critters. And, of course, I feel "safer" using this product when I will be picking veggies from that plant the next day. I keep it close at hand, outside near the biggest garden and in a shaded spot by the water faucet--so I have it right there when I need it--no excuses for letting those bad insects live an extra moment!
I was originally surprised by the price for this particular bottle--then I realized it was a larger bottle than I usually find available to buy. So double-check the size before you criticize the price. 'Cause you can under-estimate the size from looking at the picture here.
About all I can say is that it wasn't horrible; compared to other products, it did keep some of the pesky insects away. However, I still I had quite a few insects that seemed to be immune to it.
Comparing it to past products I've used, I'd have to say this one only gets 2 out of 5 stars because I felt as though I was using something only a step above water.
lemon tree that had become infested with spider mites. I use the skin on these lemons, and I have had to wipe down each leaf individually because I did not want to use something toxic. I decided to try the Safer brand on the tree and it has been very effective - an immediate reduction in the mites and their webs.
The one negative is that you have to use a LOT of this product - just two treatments and the bottle is half empty. Lemon trees also have thick, waxy leaves, so unlike other reviewers, I did not experience the leaves turning reddish brown, which is a plus.
