.....it showed up loose, in a big brown box with absolutely no instructions !!!!!!!
This is critical, lifesaving equipment....
THE FIT AND ADJUSTMENT INSTRUCTIONS ARE CRITICAL....ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL AND CRITICAL TO IT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY.
I downloaded the ....20 PAGES.....of fit and adjustment directions from the manufacturers web site. Be sure that you do the same !!!!
I fit me quite nicely and I'd say I'm an average sized guy [200 lbs, 5' 10"]. It was easy to adjust.
It took a little practice getting it on, but once you figure out how to lay it out, you basically just step into it.
The chest clasp is pretty ingenious, works easily, and seems quite secure.
The D rings on the hips work nicely with a tree climbing strap and I felt quite secure leaning back with both hands free to work.
I used the rear D ring to attach the tether to my chainsaw and this worked out nicely [I know, its really for a fall arrest rope].
Overall I was very pleased with this product: it fits, works as designed, is very secure, easy to use and the price was right. I looked at a LOT of other harnesses and most of them were quite expensive.
Yes it takes some time to figure it out, you can do that in your backyard.
The little sheet of instructions was enough for me.
If my life is depending on it I will be sure how to use it or NOT use it.
For the money it is a great deal.
I put it on/off for several times to get used to HOW to get it on.
My point of reverence is the rear eye (used for the emergency line....if used) what is at the center at your shoulders
(I hold it up on that eye and the whole thing makes more sense)
I used it together with the Tree Spider Vertical Climbing Belt.
Took 3 times to get up in the tree, tried about 3 feet high.
first time with sneakers, did not work.
second time with army boots, better but still not ok.
third time with the army boots with spikes and up I went.
This was my first palm tree, easier than with a 10 ft ladder and a 10 ft pole saw.
