3.0 out of 5 stars It was OK, but I returned it for a Britax. October 6, 2010

Amazon Verified Purchase
After reading TONS of reviews, I thought I would try this carseat because it was a great price for all the features it offers. I was very excited when I purchase the Triton colored covertible car seat. I like how it can be used for children up to 100 lbs. The material was soft and it looked like a comfy seat for my 11 month old son. My son looked so uncomfortable when I put him in the seat before installing but I thought I had positioned him wrong. The installation was easy, I don't know how some people could say it is difficult, you just have to read everything before you put it in. Also, when in the rear facing position I had to put towels underneath the carseat so that the seat was at a 45 degree angle. I wasn't too fond of that. The carseat moves around ALOT, so I used the seatbelt AND the latch system which made the carseat a little more secure. I put my son in after installing into my Nissan Murano and we went on a test drive, he cried the whole time. I stopped the car and checked on him and his head seemed like it was being pushed forward a little bit. I think if he was in the forward facing position, it would be even worse, he looked extremely uncomfortable.

I think this is an OK carseat, but I am a first time mom and want the best for my baby. I returned the Safety 1st carseat and ended up buying a Britax 70 Boulevard because of its five star reviews. I have had it for 2 weeks and my son falls asleep everytime I put him in it. I dont have to use towels to keep it level and the Latch System is awesome. The carseat doesnt move AT ALL. It is expensive but I am willing to pay that much for the safety and comfort that it offers. I LOVE IT! Amazon has them priced about 50 dollars cheaper than anywhere I have checked. Hope this helps :)

2.0 out of 5 stars Poor Quality Car Seat April 13, 2011
By Shanody
I bought this in Nitron (orange) and absolutely loved the color and look of the car seat. It was affordable, plus the added benefit of being able to use this seat for quite some time with my son was appealing. But we were highly disappointed when we received the seat and returned it.

The bad:
- Plastic is thin and cheap feeling all over. The base, the harness latch, recline lever, etc is all plastic and feels cheap like it could break at any time. I honestly would not trust it in a serious car wreck.
-Seat fabric is a little rougher than I expected and not padded very well.
-We had it fully reclined and my 4 month old was still slumped over in the seat. It looked so uncomfortable and we could not get him in the right position no matter what we did.
-Yes, it's large but we already knew that before buying it which didn't bother us too much.
-My car seat was shipped directly from the manufacturer (Cosco/Safety 1st)...it arrived in the box without any cushioning or plastic wrap over the main body of it...plus the box was crushed on one side. Very disappointing to receive the car seat in this manner.

The good:
-Great concept, design, and colors...just poor manufacturing.
-Harness was easy to buckle my son in.
-Fit fine in our extended cab truck

I would suggest seeing the variety of car seats in person at a store...touching and feeling them to make sure it is of the standard you want your child to be in. In my opinion, the affordable price is not worth the risk of being in a poor quality car seat during a wreck. There are better options out there.

5.0 out of 5 stars SAVED OUR SON'S LIFE! January 16, 2012
Alpha Omega Elite Convertible Car Seat

I've never been a big review writer but this car seat deserves a rave review! We were in a rollover accident on the interstate last night, and this seat saved our 20 month old son's life. Not one bump or bruise! The straps are super simple to adjust, the seat is easy to clean. The recline option was an awesome feature when our son was smaller and the adjustable head rest is hard to beat. For the amount of time your child will spend in a carseat this one is hard to beat! Simply put I'll buy this seat million times over!
