Terrible & Dangerous,
By Mrs. Me (Midwest USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Safety 1st Cabinet Slide Lock 2 Pack (Health and Beauty)
We did not purchase these through Amazon, but we did make the mistake of buying them. They are horrible! The first flaw is they break very easily. The second is that they rarely fit what you are attempting to secure. The third (and worst of all), is that once we got this to fit one cabinet of ours, our daughter cut her arm on the razor-like hard plastic that sticks out from the end. These really should be taken off the market. Please save your child the damage and yourself the headache and use something else - these are awful!

Bad for knobs!!!,
This review is from: Safety 1st Cabinet Slide Lock 2 Pack (Health and Beauty)
I didn't buy these through Amazon, but I wanted to let people know that if you have knobs these will not work!!! I don't know about handled cabinets where you can put one end physically through the handle, but since these lack a "lip" on the latch side they will come right off cabinets with knobs!!! My one year old pulled these off in about 1 second. Total waste of money for me!!!!

Horrible,
This review is from: Safety 1st Cabinet Slide Lock 2 Pack (Health and Beauty)
Wished I could have given this 0 stars. We bought these when my son turned 12 months. By 13 months he was able to slide them off the knobs already. By 14 months he had managed to break one clear off the cabinet thereby taking the knob with it. It broke in half! Very flimsy quality.

It is too short and does not work with the typical french door. We were given the impression it should work but it does not.

Best Locks,

These are great for knob handles because you can just slide it off to open. Our son could open other locks that we bought. Simple, but great!

I never got to use these because they were too small to fit around my cabinet knobs, wish they were an inch longer

chunky plastic makes it difficult to fit many cabinets,

We have three different cabinets that we hoped to use these locks on. Unfortunately they only fit on one. The ends of the locks are so thick and chunky that they just didn't fit through one set of handles (the tv cabinet) and it didn't contract enough to fit around a set of knob-style kitchen cabinets. They worked--just barely--on a bookcase cabinet from Ikea, but all in all I wish I hadn't purchased these. I'm going with the classic cable-type lock instead. I just don't see how these would fit very many different types of cabinet handles.

These are terrible locks.,

These locks do not work. They are really hard to get open, especially if you use them more than once in a great while. The also break really easily, making it super easy for my son to get into a cabinet what I don't want him in.

Complete junk!,
This review is from: Safety 1st Cabinet Slide Lock 2 Pack (Health and Beauty)
These are the absolute worst. The plastic is so soft and bendable that it took our 15 month old all of ten seconds to grab one end of it and pull it right off. Seriously, are these even tested? Now it's a game for him, and every time he sees one of these he heads right over to yank it off our knobs.Don't bother with these, you'd be better off wrapping some twine instead.

not good for knobs that are "chunky",
By
This review is from: Safety 1st Cabinet Slide Lock 2 Pack (Health and Beauty)
We have what I would have thought would be pretty common knobs. [...]These locks wont work on this kind of knob because the slider piece is too fat to close securely under the knob. So you could just slip this device off without any effort. I dont want to say the product doesnt work, but just know that if you have a knob like ours, this lock is not going to work on it.
