Customer Reviews

Whenever she sat down, she was on the edge and it was obvious that she would miss the bowl.

No wonder the potty stinks no matter how many times I've soaked it in bleach diluted water in trying to get rid of the urine smell.

I finally threw the cushion away hoping to just get replacement ones every few months but I can't find any.

We as moms have enough smelly gross things to clean without adding another one.
My dd was a wiggler on the potty and the cushy part was constantly soaking up pee.
After cleaning it 10 times in one day I threw it out and bought one that had less pieces and was all plastic.

Its comfy, it looks great,my boy's pee flows into the potty without a mess and he loves it. However its horrible for hygiene as the pad absorbs urine that gets under it and it will never dry out nor can you remove the urine/odor. Washing with soap or vinegar doesn't help, chemicals used will irritate your child's skin if used to wash the pad.(remember they absorb these and dont wash out properly) So please look for a different potty. We are now investing into the Sesame Elmo adventure potty. Will review on that one once we use it.

Do not purchase this product. I am a Lysol freak but the only match for this stinky potty is the garbage!!!! This item should be recalled because the cushion soaks everything up including whatever you use to clean it and it causes skin irritations to children's behinds and thighs because you can't get that stuff out of the cushion. Very sad because this potty was a breeze to clean until I figured out that stinky smell coming from the cushion. I squeezed the cushion out one day under running water and the smell and dark color coming out of it was so gross! Months and months of sponged up PEE and cleaning agents!!! No matter how long I set there trying to clean it it seemed like the smell just got worse!! Do not recommend and truly think this needs recalled and the cushion fixed and then it would be a gem but until then BUYER BEWARE!

My son is almost 3, and this is not big enough for his tiny little bum. He poops on the seat every single time. This wouldn't be so bad if the the seat weren't so porous; it is somewhere between difficult and impossible to clean the poop and pee off of the seat. And the cushy seat cracked after only a few weeks of use.

Plus, the step stool aspect seems like a good idea until they carry this disgusting thing into your kitchen and slosh pee everywhere. Two thumbs down!

The opening is quite small and there's not much of a cup on the front to contain/deflect the urine into the potty, so the hunched over position that the boys need to be in in order to not pee out of the seat is not natural or comfortable. There are also rigid, almost sharp edges on the under side of the lid so that if the child were to slip off backward from their awkward 'potty position', they are likely to get some scratches or bruises, or at the very least, some owies. The hard plastic bottom has nothing to prevent it from sliding, so even used as a step stool I find it unstable and not safe.

I have this for my 22-month old. It does kind of slide when he steps up on it to use as a step-stool. But we're always with him in the bathroom. It would be unsafe for him to use on his own. I wish the splash guard was wider and higher. He has to push his little pee pee down to try and urinate inside. It makes me uncomfortable to watch him do this each time. Or he kind of squats over it to avoid having to push his member down the tight space. He's tall for his age (about 30" tall) and the ring is kind of small. Overall it's a good concept. Just not as well executed. And it is absorbant. We wash it after every use and it will get wet and inside the foam. I wish the lid was more durable and could stay upright when open. We prop it against the wall or the tub when he uses it.

As one reviewer mentioned the soft seat cushion gets soaked in pee. For some reason I thought it would be water proof, you know because it would be used around pee! And don't even try to imagine what it's like to scrub poop off of this! Totally a bad design.

My son uses it since he was a month old, when all of a sudden he has decided not to poop in this diaper and could hold it for days. He was a 2 months premature baby and weighted 5 pounds when he was a month old. I've compared all potties at Toysrus, this is the one with the smallest seating ring to fit my son's tiny bump. Immediately, I've noticed although it is made by SafetyFirst, it is not safe at all. It would slide and shift when my son wiggles and kick while seating on it. The anti-slip pads at the bottom are just too small to hold it still on wooden flooring. Also, it doesn't have a backrest or handle that baby can lean on to. I have to hold my son from the back and at the same time holding the potty still with my feet.
Secondly, the cushion seat and the bowl seemed to be designed without testing. Urine would go around the underside of the cushion, I have to wash both the bowl and the cushion after every use.
Then, after 7 months of usage, something horrible happened..... Yesterday when I was washing the potty, I might have been holding the cushion a little too hard, there was water and bubbles coming out from the cushion. It was until then I've realized that the cushion ABSORBS urine and water! No wonder the potty stinks no matter how many times I've soaked it in bleach diluted water in trying to get rid of the urine smell. The bubbles that I've squeezed out is aparently the detergent that I've been using all along. This really solved the mystery of my son's rash on his thigh last week, and the wet onesie (I thought the bottom flap of the onesie had accidentally fall into the bowl while potty time). My son has never had any diaper rash or skin problem since birth, the rash on his thigh really scared me. It is horrible to know that it is the liquid that has built up in 7 months, and is a mixture of urine, detergent, bleach and water that was irritating his skin.
Please STAY AWAY from this potty in all cost!!
