Very thin, rough material. Definitely not worth it. Do what I did... go buy a pair of wrist sweat-bands (found in the sporting goods section) at your local walmart. Cut a little hole out of the "back" of each band and then cut a little slit above it and then below it (this gives the band some give). Slide those over your baby's knees and you'll be set. Much thicker and softer!!!

I purchased these knee pads along with a pair of much more heavily padded ones that have two velcro straps that secure them. Much to my surprise, the more expensive ones with the velcro just won't stay on my 10-month old son unless I have them so tight that he can't bend his knees! These ones, however, while not providing the level of padding of the others, stay on regardless of whether I put them on over his trousers or straight onto his bare knees when he's wearing shorts. Sure, I do have to adjust them from time to time when they inevitably slip down a bit, but that happens about every ten minutes or so rather than the two-to-three minutes of the velcro ones. The bottom line, for me, is that they allow him to explore over 2300 square feet of tile with no injury to his knees. And they're infinitely washable, which is a must. As soon as I get off this review page, I'm going to order another pair!

I did quite a bit of research and tried different things to prevent my son from getting carpet burn. The expensive pads did not convince me and went ahead and bought these cheaper pads after I tried recreating these with one of my old tube socks which did not stay in place.

When these arrived I was very concerned that they were too small/tight as some reviewers mentioned so I used 2 plastic water bottles (the 24 oz ones) and put these on the bottles to stretch out overnight.

The next day, I put these protectors on my son and at first he kept on trying to pull them down but as the morning went by he got used to them. I do have them removed when he is not crawling too much or busy playing with a toy to let the knees "breath out".

Overall this product is worth the money, I would not have payed more as another easy solution would have been to keep him wearing pants :)

My baby has bruises on his knees and legs from crawling on my hard wood floors. I was trying to find "baby knee pads" and took a pair of adult socks and cut the feet off and used these on his knees. The home made knee pads didn't work very well and chaffed the inside of the back of his knee. I searched on Amazon and found these.
Basicly what these are is EXACTLY what I made at home with the socks as described above. There is NO padding. It is probably thinner then my sock material. They also rub the inside of his knee because they bunch up as they crawl.
I would give these no stars if I could.

My 7 month old summer crawler needed something to protect his knees from carpet burns, etc. I thought these would work, but they are very small and don't stretch much. If your child has healthy legs, don't use these as they can cut off circulation. My baby is much smaller than the boy in the ad, too. Very disappointed.

These are a wonderful length but they are a little tight on the thigh. I expected them to be somewhat tight in order to keep them up but these are seemingly a little uncomfortable.

Sad to say these weren't worth the money spent on them. They were terrible! The fabric wasn't soft at all, and they kept rolling up and wouldn't stay on or around her knees.

I bought the fancier, more expensive version. Never stayed on my baby. Worst $20 I ever spent. These actually stayed on my baby. They're not as padded as the more expensive type. Maybe a little too snug on the legs. But they did stay on.
