-Excellent safety ratings
-The seat seems sturdy, the fabric is good quality and seems like it will wash up well, and also seems like it won't get too hot in the summer or too cold in the winter. It also doesn't have the chemical smell I noticed on some of the Chicco ones when I compared them in the store.
-It's pretty easy to get the seat in and out of the base.
-The instructions are clear and straightforward. (Although we'll see what happens when we attempt to install it in the car).
-It's good up to 35lbs, and it's extra long which is good if you have a tall kid.
-Not a big deal to me, but if you're tall, keep in mind that this seat is longer than some of the other infant bucket seats on the market so you might have to move your seat up to make it fit.
-It's heavy, and there's no grip on the handle so carrying the kid around in it is probably not going to be fun. (Mostly I plan on just taking the baby out of the seat).
-The canopy seems a bit flimsy (personally I don't think this is a big issue)
Also, when we received the seat, the base that came with it was defective (the cap that should hold the latch bar in place was broken off and bent), but Safety 1st's customer service was excellent and they sent us a replacement base right away. The replacement base is black (not grey like in the picture) but it actually seems to be a significantly higher quality of plastic, and the seat actually fits better in it.
I will say that I wish I had coughed up the extra 30-40 bucks for the 'Air' version. The base on the 'Air' is shaped differently, and is therefore about 1.5 inches narrower at the front. I currently install mine baseless, and while buckling it in every time is NOT at all difficult, it would be nice to be able to click it on the bucket and I do feel that the 'air' version would be narrow enough, while the original model just doesn't install as nicely as I'd like. Good news is that I can buy an air base once it is in the budget, and the original model will fit!
I love Safety 1st :)
