Probably a good product,
Unfortunately when I got this product I realized that my oven handle is in the way. With how close my oven handle is to the oven door this latch wouldn't work. The handle does not allow the latch to release fully. If you are going to buy this product make sure your oven handle is actually lower than the top of the door so that it doesn't interfere with the latch.

Good for about 2-1/2 years,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
When my oldest daughter was about 18 months, we realized that we needed to do a bit more babyproofing than we'd initially done. The electrical outlets were covered, but she was pulling open the oven, the fridge, the fireplace. Since technology hasn't advanced to the point where I can clone myself and have the clones watch her, something else had to be done.
Since that time, I've gone through several locks for the fridge door and (no lie) have had to use duct tape to hold the fireplace doors shut. I bought this lock, and it lasted about 2-1/2 years. The adhesive finally gave out tonight, so it cost us approximately $1.52 a year to keep her from burning herself. Our oldest is actually old enough to understand not to bother the oven, but her little sister is nearly 18 months old. So, we're buying another to keep *her* safe. I don't think that any adhesive is going to be absolutely permanent when used on a hot surface like an oven, but this one worked very well for us. We're buying a second one, anyway.

Works for dishwasher too...,
By Emmly (Midwest) - See all my reviews When my 18 month old started pulling the oven door open, I had all kinds of horrific images going through my head. I'm so glad I found these. Very easy to install, just peel off the paper off the sticky pad and stick it in place. It doesn't come off when the oven is hot. Just make sure, if you have a self cleaning oven, stick it more to the side, where it doesn't interfere with the closing lever. Even if they only work for about 2.5 years, like another reviewer stated, hey, that's not bad for $4. Since my son learned to open the dishwasher, I thought I'd try one of these on there too. It works perfectly. (If I could only put one of these on my garbage too) :o) Now, he's trying to figure out how the lock works so he can open the dishwasher door. Luckily this lock is sturdy, so it's difficult for him to slide it to the side. All in all an awesome product. I wish I had more places to use it.
