4.0 out of 5 stars Does the job BUT ...
It certainly gets the job done but the problem is that the battery died after one day. I used it for a maximum of 5 minutes ;-(

1.0 out of 5 stars safety over utility
Bought this earscope to use on our 4-month old infant, but can't see down to her eardrum. We took it to the doctor with us and asked him to show us how to use it, and he said it was useless: the infant tip is too short to see the eardrum, and the longer tips are too fat to fit in a baby's ear canal.

1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of $$$$$$, May 20, 2011

This was a complete waste of my money. My husband or myself could not see anything clearly with this earscope when we looked into our children's ears as well as each others ears. Everything was very fuzzy looking and it did not seem to focus on the eardrum. I also took it into my pediatrician to make sure it wasn't just me. He also said it did not work properly and he could not use it to diagnose an ear infection either. The light is a really strange color as well almost a purple and not very bright. This was not a good purchase. I do not understand the positive reviews either this unit is defective or the people who are selling these are also leaving the reviews.

4.0 out of 5 stars Why doesn't every parent have one of these?, January 2, 2011

What a great idea. Most parents have a thermometer to check to see if their child has a fever. Why not have one of these to check for ear infections? Takes the guess work out of whether or not to go see the doctor.

We were not sure if our boy was just teething or had something wrong with him. Since I've bought this I diagnosed one ear infection already, went to the doctor and got some antibiotics to clear it up.

1.0 out of 5 stars doesn't work, May 12, 2011

This product does not provide a clear view of baby's ear. I have an 8 month old baby and cannot see far enough in his ear to determine whether or not it is infected. Additionally the light is blue so even if I could see far enough to tell if baby had a pink healthy inner ear, I'm not sure I could tell with a blue light. I took it to my doctor's office and they didn't think much of it either. Better off buying a more expensive medical quality scope.

This didn't work for us. Couldn't see well enough to know if there was anything to be concerned about. I tried all the ear probes but never got better results. I tried pulling babys earlobe down as instructed but it didn't seem to help at all. Returned it the next day.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ear Scope, February 13, 2011

I purchased this ear scope after my daughter had an ear infection that was stubborn to get rid of. After 4 times of going to the doctor and getting different meds that weren't working I decided to purchase this and save money from always taking her to the doctor. It is very easy to tell whether the ears are infected or not. The nice thing about this scope is that it also comes with an adult attachment, so you can use it on adults as well. I will never regret this purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great otoscope at a good price, February 5, 2011

I love this otoscope! My daughter (2 years old) has been plagued by multiple ear infections. I wanted a way to check her ears myself to avoid wasted trips to the doctor's office and/or to catch infections early. My daughter has very small ear canals and one of her ear drums is very deep. I now understand why a few of the doctors seem to have such a hard time checking her ears! You need to pull the earlobe down and back to open it up before viewing. I used the long tip and I've had no problems.

Easy to use and clean, the ear scope allows you to peek in your child's ear and see if they have an ear infection. Viewer magnifies the ear and you don't have to press your eye against it to get a good view. Reasonable cost, too!

this product works great for checking on my 5 year old's ears. She seems to get ear aches every time she has a cold and I can make sure they are not too inflamed by looking with this handy device. works good enough for the price.
