My husband and I received this monitor as a shower gift and we are pleased with it. My sister has two kids and has tried several monitors and none have worked as good as this one. She even had one of those expensive video monitors and this one's reception is still better then hers. We have tried using this monitor all over the house and even outside and the reception still remains great. I also love the fact that the monitor itself doubles as a night light so when I check on my son in the night I don't have to use the bright overhead light. The other great thing about the light is that it shuts itself off after 15 minnutes. If you need a monitor don't hesitate to get this one.

I receieved this monitor as a shower gift and my husband and I tried it out before our son was born and it works fantastic! My husband took it outside and walked up the block and still was able to here me breathe in my sons room. It is amazing how clear the reception is. My son is now 2 months old and he has been sleeping in his own room in his crib since he was 5 weeks old. The monitor picks up his soft breathing and even the slightest noises outside (like a car passing). We also have the video monitor but I feel this monitor is clearer and there is less interference. It also works on batteries and has a clip for your belt so you can still be mobile. A great investment!!!

I read all the reviews and originally selected another brand monitor with all the bells & whistles that was supposed to be the best one, but it was awful! There was so much feedback it would wake up the baby. My husband bought this one because he thought it was "low-tech" and a little more conventional. He was right! The sound is great, no problems hearing the baby in the room with the air conditioner going. We also use the receiver alone as a static maker and it puts our baby to sleep when he is in his carseat.

I got this for a baby shower gift, and it is Great! I did have a small problem with static at first, but found that I had it too close to a medal antenna that was on my small boom box I have in the baby room for playing soothing sounds CD's. Once I moved it about 1.5 feet away from it, all the static disappeared.

My husband and I keep one of the hand held parent recovers in our bed room plugged in at all times, and the other moves around the house with us (3-level home) weather we are down stairs watching TV, out in the garage tinkering on one of our cars or motorcycle, in the computer room or in the kitchen, it is always loud and clear. I can even go in the back yard and play ball with the dogs and it is always loud and clear or go get the mail in the front yard. No problems with it. And we LOVE it.

I recommend if you have any static or noise problems, to just play with the channels and move the receiver (the baby's end) around the room, some times things in the baby room will cause some noise. Just be patient and play with it, and you will find the perfect place for it to work the best for your home and needs. Like I said, it only took me to move ours once to find the perfect place.

Plain and Simple... It is a Great buy, has Great Reception and will pick up even the smallest sounds like the baby's breathing if you turn the volume up on the parent's end. Very impressive! It is also a Great buy on the price.

This monitor is awesome! We got it because we needed a monitor with two receivers. I was skeptical at first because it was so inexpensive, but it is excellent! No static, and the reception is great. It even comes with the added bonus of allowing me to hear my three year old in the next bedroom - actually, I use it to hear what she is up to more than my 3 month old! I can pretty much hear anything going on upstairs, it is so clear.

This baby monitor works great. We use a video monitor also, but we got this monitor so we could carry the receivers with us when away from our video monitor. The reception is great...no static and it picks up every little sound imaginable! We put the monitor in the living room and it picked up the soft ticking of the clock in the kitchen...crystal clear! The receivers work great and at a far distance. Definately a great buy and with this monitor, you can rest assured that you will hear your baby when she needs you.

This monitor is very sensitive, picks up the slightest sounds. It has a good range, haven't had any interference from the cordless phone. It has very little static. The dim light is perfect for a night light, stays on long enough to get things done. Definately worth the money.

We were not able to use this since it uses the same frequency as wireless networks. So, if you have ANY wireless network at home, you will not be able to use this monitor, you will get continuous static with no reception.

We first bought the Peace of Mind by The First Years. I thought it must be pretty good since it was on the more expensive side. It was awful because it clicked every 30 seconds that drove my husband and I crazy. So with the reviews I saw here, I bought the Safe Glow 2 Receiver Monitor. It was clear (I could here my child breathing) and no static or the infernal clicking noise. Not only that, our house has lots of wireless hub and portable phones and the receivers still do a great job. I even have the receiver next the portable phone and no problems. I highly recommend this product.

This is our first hand experience with a new born and a baby monitor. We live in an apartment that has a lot of background noise from the neighborhood, since the windows are always open. We needed a monitor that would be sensitive and loud enough to help us hear when the baby awoke/cried while sleeping in his room.
The sensitivity is very good. I cannot say I can compare it to anything as this is our first monitor. However, comparing the same to a two-way radio that I do have experience with, I found it did a pretty good job. The amount of static is not more or less than a regular two way radio. And the sensitivity of the base is commendable.
The soft light feature on the base is neat and cute. Haven't had to use it yet, but I liked the feature regardless.
Another added feature that we appreciated was the option of using electricty or batteries on the receivers thus allowing mobility as well as saving batteries.
The compartment in the back of the base to wind up extra cord was also a design feature that was appreciable as it helped keep cable and clutter to a minimum.

All in all, would recommend this monitor to anyone looking for a decent price range and good quality. I can only hope that it will last long.
