Terrible,

Our 14-month old figured out within minutes how to pull this "lock" off of the toilet. She enjoyed clubbing her brother over the head with it. On the plus side, it was easy to install!

This item is most frustrating in the middle of the night when I'm only half awake and trying to get the toilet lid up and the damn thing invariably comes off in my hands. This item worked well for about the first 3 weeks, then the suction cups became worthless. Maybe it would work well for a guest bathroom, or a different toilet than the one we have, but currently, this thing spends more time on the floor than on the toilet. I'm thinking about hot glueing the blasted thing on to keep my daughter from playing in the toilet....

It makes a great toy,

I bought this toilet latch as it appeared to be easy to use and did not have to be permanently attached to the toilet bowl. However, no matter how many times or how many ways I try, I cannot get this to remain attached to the toilet tank for any significant period of time. While the other type of latch is not as convenient and must be stuck to the toiler bowl, it keeps the toilet lid secure. My daughter pulls it off and runs around the house with it - so it does have some use.

Horrible!,
This review is from: Safety 1st Sure Fit Toilet Lock (Baby Product)
This thing is a piece of junk! It will not stay suctioned to our toilet. My husband will work with it for 15-20 minutes to announce it is finally fixed just to have it slide loose or fall off. We've clean the toilet and the suction cups but nothing works.
We found a different one at Target that works great!

Within the first 30 seconds of attaching this to the toilet, my 18 month old pulls it right off. He walked in the bathroom, went right to it, and yanked it off. Yeah, that was really worth the money.....this worthless thing is headed back to the store.

Worthless,

I bought this because we're moving soon and I liked that it didn't attach permanently--but it would be more useful if it stayed attached at all! The suction cups let go randomly, making it insecure. The lock mechanism is difficult to operate, which is useful for keeping my son from opening it, but that doesn't help when he can pull the whole device off the tank. It just makes it harder to use the toilet when you want to. We've stopped using it. It's safer to keep the door shut. We'll have to find a better lock when he learns how to open the door.

I put this thing on the toilet to keep my 17 month old from playing the toilet. I tried to train my 6 yr old and 3 1/2 year olds how to use it but it was too hard for either of them to open the toilet, and if they pulled the wrong way the whole thing would come off.
I think I'm going back to the Gerber toilet lock. Even though you have to attach the Gerber lock it to the toilet seat and it's hard to get off later, it does work. Our worked for 2 or 3 years of heavy use before the adhesive finally gave way.

This product does not work to say the least. All of the reviews are true. Don't waste your time or your money on this piece of garbage. I don't have anything else to keep my 1 year old out of the toilet, so I have to continue to use it, but ASAP it will be in the trash.

We made multiple attempts, but this model kept falling off the toilet tank. Taking it back ASAP.

This lock is terrible! It does not stay suctioned at all. It would stay on, but only if you glued it to the toilet! What a waste of money. It's cheaper to just keep the bathroom door closed for now.
