Won't fit all tubs, be sure to measure yours!,

This review is from: Safety 1st Tubside Bath Seat (Baby Product)
I really wanted this seat to work - the others use suction cups to adhere the seat to the bottom of the tub, unfortunately, our bath tub has a textured floor and suction cups do not stick. I was pleased when I first took this out of the box. It came already assembled and ready to go, and seemed very sturdy and just what I was looking for.
It was very easy to install, but once in, I noticed that the red "warning" label was very visible at the bottom of the extension arm, near the seat. Referencing the instructions, this label should NOT be visible, and if it is, you are not to use the seat. I guess if the extension is all the way out (the seat too low in the tub) it must create some stability issues. A closer look at the instructions revealed what SHOULD be posted on the product listing, but ISN'T: DO NOT USE on the following style tubs: - The tub edge width is less than 3.5" (8.9 cm) or greater than 5.5" (14 cm) - The inside depth (top to bottom) is less than 12" (30.5 cm) or greater than 15.5" (39.37 cm) - Free standing (legged or pedestal), Oval, or Drop-In - Spa Type A quick measure of our tub told me that this was the reason it wouldn't fit correctly. Our tub is 18" deep. I really wish Amazon / Safety 1st could have posted this on the product page, it would have saved the trouble of sending it back, as I now must do.

Twins in the Tub!!,
By
This review is from: Safety 1st Tubside Bath Seat (Baby Product)
My nine month old twin grandsons, Cayden and Dylan, are two slippery handfuls in the tub. These seats by Safety First makes bathing them both at the same time possible and enjoyable. We tried seats which stuck to the bottom of the tub (with suction cups) first, but when these active little boys leaned over, the seats came un-stuck, dumping the babies into the drink. My daughter is happy to have this helpful aid, and the boys are thrilled to be together at bath time again.

These reviews are crazy!,

This bathseat does its purpose, supports baby in the tub with CONSTANT parental supervision in SHALLOW water which is recommended for any child.
I cannot believe the ratings and the reasonings for the ratings on this product! Giving it a 1 or a 2 because the product doesn't fit in your tub? The product is the one that is consistant in size, it is your bathtub that doesn't fit the product! Low rating because after months and months of GOOD use, your child randomly poops in the tub and you can't get the bath seat clean enough? List the lack of ability to come apart as a con, but to tank the whole rating because your child made a mess in the tub? And a low rating because of the people out there who fill their bathtubs too high and may leave their child UNATTENDED for a moment? Common sense, your not supposed to do that! I looked over this product for a month because of its low rating, come to realize that most of the bad ratings don't rate the functionality of the product at all, just "user errors". I had to weed threw them all to find genuine product reviews. Does your baby enjoy his or her bath in this seat? Is the seat easy to store away? Is your baby safe in the seat, in the recommended shallow water and an adult ALWAYS near by? Any improvements that can be made on this seat? Does it break easily? Anything happen at all during typical use that could make this seat unsafe? These are the most important questions that should be answered when it comes to any baby/child product.

Unable to be cleaned--not so safe!,

This review is from: Safety 1st Tubside Bath Seat (Baby Product)
I got this seat for my baby and used it until she was 14 months. It actually served us quite well in spite of retaining and leaking water. You have to turn it over and side to side to get excess water out of it after use and even then you have to put in on a towel or something. The seat rotates so you can have your child facing any direction. Also, the elbow piece can be turned inward so that it doesn't take up as much space when you aren't using it.
The problem with it was that when my little girl pooped in the tub there was no way to take it apart and clean it! My hubby tried and even with a screw driver or other tools there's no way to get it apart to properly clean it and so we had to throw it away. :( Because of this I will not buy another. Also, if you fill up the tub too much it will float up a bit causing it to tilt forward--even with the elbow pad in place and even with a child that weighs 20 lbs. BEWARE OF THIS! Your child could tilt forward while in the seat and, unable to get out, get stuck and drown-- although, of course, you'd NEVER leave them unattended. I just think that because of the elbow pad that goes over the side parents might think they can leave their child safely for a minute to get the phone or something and you CANNOT!!!! I don't like the false sense of security this might give some people.

Pretty Nifty,
This review is from: Safety 1st Tubside Bath Seat (Baby Product)
I love this bath seat. Here are some reasons why:
- The padded arm that fits over the tub is WONDERFUL to rest your elbows on while bathing your child. - It secures to the tub in two spots - the padded arm fits snugly over the side of the tub and the bottom of the seat suctions to the bottom. Seems very safe to me. - The swivel feature is great, I can turn my son facing either direction in the tub. Yes, you have to watch your child closely but that is true ALWAYS, with ANY bath seat or no bath seat. This is a very safe and convenient bath seat. One slight issue is that it is pretty big with the arm and takes up quite a bit of storage space in your bathroom, or wherever you want to keep it. I would recommend this to any of my friends or family.

Great purchase,

I have had 2 of these seats and loved them! The seats do get moldy after sitting in the tub for long periods, so either clean it often or replace when the next baby comes. It is a great security to know your baby won't throw back and hit his or her head in a slippery tub. Note the you can get this seat elsewhere for under $30....this price is a complete rip off

Great seats easy to use!,

We've been bathing our twins in these seats for a couple of months now. I like the fact that the seat hangs over the side of the tub because I know it is not going anywhere. The hook also has a nice arm rest for mom and dad. We tried the seat when the boys were only 4.5 months and had to put them away because they were just too little for them at the time. Now they can fill the seat better the sit in them easily. I would recommend turning the seat upside down after use to make sure all of the water drains. So far these seats have made bath-time at my house a lot of fun for both babies and parents.

I really liked the idea of having the arm rest and being able to swivel the baby to reach everywhere. However my little one is 5 months old and 17lbs and is very hard to get in and out without hurting her legs. Also to keep the baby warm you have to fill the tub up which makes the seat float because there is no suction cups on the bottom. This made baby very nervous and she didn't like being in it. I did like the arm rest. Wish there was something with an arm rest and that opens in the front to get baby in and out.

I bought this for my daughter when she turned 11 months because she was growing out of her baby tub. Now she is almost 13 months and climbs out of it. Also if you don't have shower curtains then the arm rest thing is pointless. I have shower doors and I can't connect the arm rest to the side of the tub.

I used this when my daughter was able to sit up on her own. She absolutely loved it. I know that sometimes now it is hard to find. I love this, would purchase it again and I would recommend it! It only fits on certain types of bath tubs though!
