Not fair! They didn't have toys like this when I was growing up! We bought this for our son on his 2nd birthday. We know he can't really play with it yet, but he likes to just sit in it and dance to the radio! We were going to go with the Power Wheels Jeep. My son kept saying NO when we had him in the Jeep. He kept wanting to sit in the vet! For $80 difference, this vet is SO MUCH more sturdier and cooler looking (we just made a birthday/Xmas combo out of it). Not to mention, if we took the Jeef home, he wouldn't play with it. It truely lost his attention. This toy is definitely not suggested for a 2 year old. He can't reach the pedals sitting back. My nephew who is 8, has no problem sitting in it. He actually LOVES it. Plenty fast for him and his buddies. I weigh 145#'s, and the car still moved. (Little note, this definitely rides better on the sidewalk for sure!)
Under the hood, it looks like a fully stocked Corvette engine. As I mentioned, the plastic is BY FAR a lot sturdier than the rest. We have played with the vet for over a week, and never had to charge it after the first initial charge. I don't know what people are talking about their batteries dying. Only downfall about the car, is with the real radio. It take regular AA batteries. If your child is young, they will turn the radio on, and you will probably not hear it. So it might die fast. I try to keep an eye on it everytime he's done playing with it.
Honestly, I know it's an expensive toy. But we never grew up with toys like this. I guarantee you, your kid and YOU will love it. Not to mention, you have a good 10 years probably out of it too! So add all that up, $300 is nothing! Plus, your kid will be the cool kid on the block! hehe
P.S.. nice option for the young riders. A slow speed of 2.5 mph on the car right away. Basically, there is a screw that you can take off to change it to the regular 5 mph speed.

After much hesitation we bought our son this vehicle. We were concerned because we did not want to set a precedent of $300 toys. It was a huge hit on Christmas. We loved the radio and blinkers. It was fun and watching him made all the previous concerns disapper. The problem has arisen a little over a year later. The rear wheel drive is not working properly and the vehicle constantly gets stuck. Without repair this vehicle has been rendered worthless. I should also add that we have taken meticulous care of this vehicle. It has never been left out in inclement weather and always garaged when not in use. My neighbor has a peg perego and the reverse broke on her Gator. The Peg Perego website was easy to manuve and listed a host of places in our state (MA) that repair their vehicles. I know this because I did the research for her. Within a week and for $40 she has her vehicle back repaired. I could not even locate where the Satety First listed their ride on toys much less find a place where they repair them. The vehicle was not worth the money for $300 and a little over a years worth of use. For my money if I had to do it again I would buy the Peg Perego! I should also note that I never write reviews. When I was making this purchase repairing it never entered into my thoughts while making my decision. It should be a consideration for anyone making a purchase like this.

We bought the red corvette for my daughter 3rd birthday. The reason was because of the room inside. it was able to hold my 7 year comfortable. We charge the battery for the first time for 20 hours and they played with it for over 3 hours the next day with the lights on. The 5mph is a bit slow compare to the jeeps, but i like this because it gives my daughter control when they need to stop suddenly.also the car takes about 2-3 seconds to reach the 5mph just like a real car will to reach 30mph.The plastic is very sturdy compare to the jeep, my neighbor daughters has the jeep and when they stand in it it flexis a bit. The seats are wider and the plastic on the side prevents the for falling out if the seat belt failed.I like the fact that you have to turn the key to get the car started. The kids in the neighborhood complement on the car. They love playing with the radio even the teenagers, they do not ride it(teenagers), I could say a lot but i will end here, you have to exprience it to believe it. P.S Give thanks to God for the car before your children used it.
