I was looking online to get my old student bow re-haired and saw most services running $75. I decided to try this ($20 cheaper) and was pleasantly surprised. It arrived with almost no packing material but arrived on time and intact. Once I rosined it up, it worked swell.

The pseudo ivory piece on the tip plate was longer than the wood and snapped off right away, but functionally the bow is sound and plays well.

Well worth the price and the trouble.

Todd

bought this as a "Bring your own bow" for a school bass used by several students for lessons. It is student quality, but wood, not fiberglass.

Got this baby on amazon deals for 30 bucks.... So i was already happy i found one that cheep. I use bows on electric bass for post rock. However, I am classically trained in upright bass as well and is perfect for those too. Although I wouldn't pay the regular price, it is still a good bow. The cosmetics are beautiful, the finishing perfect. Overall a good buy for me.

I don't know anything about using bows, but it works well enough on my guitars.
