Ordered to help manage clients. One of the deciding factors for me in purchasing this product was the advertised "mobile device" ability which was clearly advertised on the packaging and in the product description as included in the 2013 edition. Once received and installed I could find nothing on this very key and relevant feature. Spent an hour on the website with no success. I finally had to call ACT, only to be told that to USE this feature(included), I needed to PAY an additional $70 per year. I told them this was false advertising - no response. If that wasn't bad enough, that money only gets you a one-way synch (from ACT to device). Maybe someone should tell them that many companies offer this feature free of charge: Dropbox, Evernote, etc. The impression of this company SAGE ACT, is one of a DECEPTIVE COMPANY OUT FOR A MONEY GRAB. There were very few "New" features in the 2013 "Anniversary Edition" over previous versions. Additionally, I found the installed software slow and cumbersome even on a new laptop with plenty of memory. Overall, liked the concept... but just doesn't deliver and could do without the false advertising.

If you have any problem don't waste your time calling customer service because the only thing they can do is sell you a new product. You have a question sorry your 30 days is up the one question is $90 to be answered and they will be quick with you on it. So if that answer produces another question tough. If you can't get on just buy the new software, they WONT HELP you. The customer service dept is the worst I have ever had the unfortunate pleasure to deal with. They will only help for a price, and still won't be much help.

I am long-time Act user. My version 2013 is probably the 5th time I have upgraded. Each time the software runs slower and is infested with more useless "features" that get in the way of use. When the Act! folks changed to a SQL database the software really became a DOG -- and I say that using a computer with an i5 CPU, 8GM of RAM and a SSD.

Does it work? Yes? But it is frustrating slow and cumbersome. And, do not even THINK of calling the company for answers to even simple questions -- you are totally on your own to figure things out -- unless you want to engage a consultant at your own expense.

As soon as I can find a competitive product that does a decent job, and into which I can import my Act database, I will "jump ship" from these people.

This product is NOT RECOMMENDED.

I've used Sage ACT! for four years, and just recently bought/installed Sage ACT! Pro 2013.

The NOT So Good News: Sage ACT! Pro 2013 promises to integrate with Google (gmail), so that you can sync all your cell phone contacts and appointments with ACT! (both directions). The truth is you can't sync ACT! with Google in either direction. Google requires a verification code for ACT! to communicate with Google, but ACT! hasn't gotten around to supporting it yet. When you call ACT! technical support, they admit that this is a known defect and promise to fix it "soon". Meanwhile, you can buy CompanionLink software that will link ACT! to Google (CompanionLink allows for the verification code from Google to be entered), but this will cost you another $80. It works fine; I'm using it. ALSO, I'm using Windows 7 and MS Office 2010, both of which are 64 bit compatible tools, but Sage ACT! 2013 is still trudging along at 32 bits, and won't work in 64 bit mode. So, if you want to link Outlook with ACT!, you have to downgrade your Outlook to 32 bit so that ACT! can speak to it. LASTLY, Sage ACT! has no customer support: you have to buy it separately (you can buy Gold, Silver or Bronze coverage). It's good, I've used it, but mine cost over $100 for 5 calls.

The better news: I've used ACT! for years, use it constantly/multiple times daily, and it's a good, solid product. It is a bit complex, and takes some time to learn. But it is quite useful, allows me to tie all my email correspondence to any of my customers, keep notes by customer, easily tracks all people in the same company, and most important to me, allows me to sync with my Droid phone (albeit via CompanionLink). It's a bit of a processor hog -- will slow down your computer as it continuously links to Outlook -- but it does the job.

Very disappointed in this product. Too complicated & not user freindly to use. So many feattures that if you
had to learn them all you would have no time to sell. Outlook is much simplier
and does less which is better.

I have used ACT for years. Moving to another data-base manager is a horrific experience so once you use this for a while you are pretty much stuck unless you are willing to shell out a few thousand dollars for help with the transition and then lose some of your functionality.

Customer service takes a long time on wait to talk to the first line people who I find to be useless. For instance, this morning I spent 40 minutes on hold because ACT Pro 2013 locked me out saying my product was registered. I spent 25 minutes on the phone with the customer service rep who told me all she could do was email me instructions for troubleshooting and fixing my problem. She sent me instructions for the wrong product. To get tech support be prepared to pony up some money. I've done that too. It wasn't worth the money. In fact is was wasn't worth my time.

In the past I've simply had to resolve problems on my own, burning up many hours of work time or find some other poor soul who did the same and was willing to post his solution online.

Also, if you are interested in their smart tasks and activity series you should know that they have never worked properly for me, even after exhaustive tech support sessions.

I dislike the company, I dislike the product. I'm looking for a replacement.
