5.0 out of 5 stars "Great Story!"
After seeing to movie I quickly went to get the book. Before then I had only read 1 Clive Cussler novel and thought it was "okay", but when I read this one I loved it! Now I am a big fan of Clive Cussler and have read all the Dirk Pitt books. I recomend this to any Tom Clancy fan--it's sort of like a Tom Clancy book, except easier to understand.

3.0 out of 5 stars Dirk Pitt Rides again...
Having read most of Cussler's Dirk Pitt novels I would say that Sahara follows the form of his previous books. I will add that Cussler's writing has only improved from his early novels. In Sahara Dirk Pitt and his trust sidekick Al are once again battling forces of evil that are spawned from corporate greed and political ambition.

While Cussler is no Dickens...

While Cussler is no Dickens he certainly has perfected the art of story telling. I found Sahara to be be riveting as Dirk and Al extricated themselves from one impossible situation after another. Most of the adventure is set in the Sahara (as one would guess from the title) but Cussler throws in a mystery of a Civil War ironclad and what really happened to Abe Lincoln.

Sahara like Cussler's other books is an easy read that will keep your attention.

5.0 out of 5 stars Be careful, this issue is in SPANISH!, August 22, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I ordered this book for my husband as he has all the books from this author. The description is not exactly clear that this is in SPANISH, Except the specifics in the language. So if you be careful, unless you want to return it and find another.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Dirk Pitt Novel Ever!!, May 11, 2006
This is my favorite of all of Clive Cusslers novels. This one deals with a true ecological problem that world does face. The twists and turns that this novel takes will keep you guessing on the mystery of the Ironclad Texas and the secret the U.S. Government has been keeping for over 100 years! Definately BUY THIS BOOK!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read, June 7, 2006

I loved this book, can't wait to get the movie. I'm almost afraid I'll be disappointed in the movie because I loved the book so much. I had read a couple of other Dirk Pitt Novels and was impressed with them all. An information packed adventure involving a present day toxic dump site in the Sahara it manages to bring Civil War history in to play as well as the conflicting politics of currant day Africa. I could not put it down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Book vs. Movie, June 20, 2006
The book was great. A fun read with great twist and good action. The movie on the other hand blew chunks!!! They should have stuck with the story from the book and not changed so much. If you have never read the book then I guess the movie is fine, but if you have read the book and seen the movie you know what I mean. I highly recomend the book.
