5.0 out of 5 stars A tuly amazing series (MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD)
This is one of the most deep and touching series (or movie or book or anything for that matter) I have ever seen. This series will definity make you shed a few tears. It is a frighteningly real love story in a fantasy setting (although it is not fantastical, just futuristic in terms of a girl being a cyborg-like weapon). This anime will make you truly care for the...

3.0 out of 5 stars Sweet but...
Yes a sweet OVA series and you do care for the characters to a certain extent. Well, to be honest by the time the thing came to an end I was emotionally exhausted by the excessive melodrama. It was to the point that the characters were more like caricatures than anything else. The end is on the way too depressing side and I feel like my emotions have just been played with...

This review is from: Saikano, Vol. 4: Love Song (DVD)
This anime will make you truly care for the characters (and not just the main ones, but for their friends as well). And you will feel genuinely sad when their world crumbles around them.
I can't recommend this anime enough. It belongs in anyones collection (whether you are an anime fan or just like stories that will make you actually feel something.)
A must buy.

Yes a sweet OVA series and you do care for the characters to a certain extent. Well, to be honest by the time the thing came to an end I was emotionally exhausted by the excessive melodrama. It was to the point that the characters were more like caricatures than anything else. The end is on the way too depressing side and I feel like my emotions have just been played with just for the heck it. Did they want to show me a sincere and poignant love story or did they just want to make me cry? It isn't always best to try so hard to evoke emotion in the viewer that realism is compromised and in the end it was just too much. This would have been better if it was less over the top.
