Product Description

This is a compendium of four sailing stories that document the intrepid misadventures of the Wild Hair in and around the Florida Keys and the Bahamas. The MacGregor twenty five foot sailboat provides a vehicle for the Giles to "enjoy" sailing and all the challenges that go with it. Whether you are a sailor or not, you will get a laugh out of the short stories.

5.0 out of 5 stars Real people sailing a boat anyone can afford, April 10, 2011

Maybe I am biased since my first sailboat was a Macgregor 25 but I really like Chips stories. Their story is not about something that is a impossible dream for most of us. It is about their adventures doing what anyone serious about sailing can do. All this for $1? beat that McDonnalds. Books like this are what I enjoy most about my Kindle. I don't know if it is even in print and if it was where it could be found. With the Kindle you are reading it in a few seconds and never leave your recliner!

If you are wanting a story about rich people cruising on thier $500,000 yachts with AC a fridge and a big diesel then don't waste your dollar. If you want to read about a working guy and his wife living the dream on a boat that you can't even stand up in then don't miss it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very lightweight, June 22, 2011

A very short and hastily written list of the often pathetic adventures of a very unprepared couple on their small yacht.
Full of spelling and factual errors (eg. doesn't know the difference between the tiller and the rudder, thinks speed is measured in "knots per hour" etc.). The humour was restricted to the long list of stupid mistakes like buying a tow car 2 days before an expedition, losing the tow car into the water, losing trailer wheels on the road etc. etc.
A waste of time unless you want a list of the places they ate and drank at.

This short (Thank God) collection of blogs should never have been written. The author has almost no writing ability and also fails as a sailor. It is sad that he seems to be so stupid that he doesn't realize what a piece of trash he wrote.

Frighteningly, he has another 'book'. I personally will stay far, far away from it.
