"Wanna-be sailors will love this book!" --
Edith Kirby, Senior's columnist, Edmonton Journal"We borrowed your book from a gentleman sailor we met when traveling with a group in Tuscany last fall. Dan and I have twice chartered (bare-boated) with friends in the Virgin Islands and your book certainly brought back (fond?) memories of sailing there. Please send us six (6) copies of your book. Some of our friends are going to get great Christmas gifts! Thanks...." --
Ellen Hemming, Rochester NYIn the 1960's Hal and Maxine Tipper became entranced by the music of the Caribbean, including the song "Yellow Bird." Twenty years later they began an active pursuit of the freewheeling spirit typified by the music by sailing the Caribbean in a sucession of yachts. This book is a humorous and informative memoir of their 15 years as foot-loose "gypsies of the sea," members of a nomadic community that sails freely from island to island. --
