Princess Luna!!!!,
This review is from: Sailor Moon #11 (Paperback)
I don't think anyone was really expecting an 11th book because of the major battle that Sailor Moon finshed off in the 10th one, but that doesn't mean I'm not open for more. If you haven't watched the anime movie Sailor Moon S- Hearts in Ice then maybe you should hold off on it until you read this first, cause basically the movie is based on this book. Luna, Serena's (a.k.a Sailor Moon) guide, is feeling depressed and wonders what it's like to be in love, after Artemis stops showing her affection( he's supposed to be her future kitty husband.) She goes off on her own and almost gets hit by a car or some kids on bikes( something in that field), but is saved by Kakeru(I believe that is his name)who was an astronaut in training but he's sick and didn't make it through the training so now he's just an astronomer. Luna begins to fall in love with him after he treats her like a princess and talks to her about his dreams and fears. But for some reason his health is getting a lot worse, and Luna doesn't know what to do. It turns out that an evil force is after him and the planet after he had found a mysterious piece of rock that landed on Earth....So what can Luna do? Well you'll have to read to find out. I know some people are kind of skeptical on the whole idea of a cat being in love with a human man, but if you have read some of the manga and watched some of the series you'll understand that Luna is NOT an ordinary cat, after all she can talk and actually understand some pretty complicating stuff that would put Serena to shame( sorry Serena, you know I love you!!) Anyway I enjoyed it (more than the movie) It was sweet and for the most part it's probably the lightest one in the series, meaning that there weren't no continuing battles or no heart wrenching scenes. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!!!!

This was so beautiful! TWO romance stories in one book! ^.^ If you loved the Sailormoon S movie and/or were a bit saddened by the fact that Himeko and Kakeru didn't get too much attention (HEY! *I* was!) then you will LOVE this book! I'm very grateful to Takeuchi-san for the loveliness of Himeko and Kakeru I love them together! *dreamy sigh* There's more Outer Senshi content, for you Outer Senshi fans. The second story, Casablanca Memory, is also very beautiful. It takes place early in the first season and it's a Rei story. Both are great. Takeuchi-san's comments are cute. ^.^ You most probably won't regret purchasing it.

Love this book. Memories of junior year in high school,
This review is from: Sailor Moon #11 (Paperback)
This is the very first Sailor Moon manga I got and it was quite a long time ago (in 2009). This became the foundation to many anime's I watched that year like "Ai Yori Aoshi" and "Kanon" and relating all three of these stories in similar ways, such as the snow, themes like search for identity, believing miracles, memories, and of course, the touching romance.
With that out of the way, this in my opinion is one of Takeuchi-sama's best Sailor Moon works because this book doesn't continue into another. It's one whole 137 page story for "Princess Kaguya's Lover" and about 30-40 for the extra chapter "Casablance Memory." If you watched Sailor Moon S the Movie: Hearts in Ice, you'll notice that this manga is the original story that made that 1994 summer movie (or 1995...whatever). This manga is way better because Luna goes to America (showing how daring and strong her love was...touching) and Himeko actually plays a part in believing the Snow Queen's invasion (unlike the anime where she doesn't believe and doesn't even meet Serena/Usagi in her senshi form...). The outer senshi Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are here too, only somehow they seem weaker and not as stand-offish as they were in the anime. They really seemed like characters who tried to prove how strong they were when they got easily pummeled. What use did they have to aid Super Sailor Moon in battle? Sailor Moon: "Uranus! Neptune! Pluto! Take Kakaeru 'back to the hosptial!' I don't need your help!" Sailor Uranus: "We're on it!" Nihaha, yeah. Another difference is in the anime, Snow Queen blocked Super Sailor Moon's "Rainbow Moon Heartache" attack whereas in the manga, it was the very attack that killed her. Oops, I spoiled a lot of things, but you all probably knew anyway. The extra story, "Casablance Memory" is actually the reason why I bought this book because it was a Sailor Mars Solitary Chapter about (in my opinion) the trials women go through in romance and the way it hurts and the way betrayal can sting. This is actually the very chapter that explains why Rei-san despises men (and I don't blame her). In between the chapters are lovely footnotes by Takeuchi-sama herself and they're very cute and enjoyable to read. They include her pencil-sketch album for the story, her trip to Florida NASA space center, her hobby of collecting lamps that gave her the idea of making the snow dancer villains and more about America, something about Balboa tea and meetings with the japanese voice actors of Usagi and Rei! Both stories, awesome to read, Sailor Moon classic. Buy this beautiful book now while the used prices are still cheap! It makes a rare, worthy edition to any manga collection, especially because the Sailor Moon manga is out of print! Funimation! Please re-license the entire series and make a good English dub this timke! Shojou Beat or Tokyopop, please re-license the manga again and have a more accurate translation! (I swear, one chapter in Vol. 4, a girl's name was Kate and then the next chapter it was back to Kotono which was actually her original name. Way to go Tokyopop!)

After the third main Sailormoon story arc ended, this book is a nice treat, and was an inspiration for the second Sailormoon movie, and is more centered on Luna (as you can see from the cover) This was a really cool extra volume for Sailormoon fans to read before going on to Sailormoon SuperS.

Due to the fact that I ordered a used manga, I expected it to show a little shelf wear. But when I got the package amd opened it up, it looks like it's brand new! Very happy with it and will be ordering the rest of the series when I can. Fast shipping, got it within 3-4 days of placing order.
I know this story in the book 11 is pretty much unrelated to the overall story plot, but I love the whimsicle side stories. I enjoy Sailor Moon a lot! I have all 3 movies and the entire animated series. The original story in the mangas are so much better than the tv series. I would highly reccomend them to any Sailor Moon fan!

Princess Kaguya's Lover & Casablanca Memory,

I got this manga for the "Casablanca Memory" story, but it also has a 2nd story, "Princess Kaguya's Lover," which is the longer story to this manga. "Casablanca Memory" is a love story between Rei and her father's aide, Mr. Kaido. I like this one, I prefer the non-man-hating Rei, who is one of my favorite characters in the Sailor Moon series.
The 2nd story, "Princess Kaguya's Lover," is a love story between Luna and a human astronomer. Bestiality isn't really my thing, but to each their own.
