5.0 out of 5 stars Chibi-Usa finnaly meets her "special friend", Hotaru!, September 24, 2001
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Sailor Moon S - The Search for the Savior (Vol. 8, Uncut Version) [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Search for the Savior is a great video for any moonie. In the first episode, we meet Mimete, the next member of Witches 5 (now 4) to serch for pure hearts. But now that the Holy Grail (Purity Chalice) has appeared and is in the hands of Sailor Moon, Tomoe and the "gang" have a new mission; to find pure hearts and "feed" their energy to the Messiah (Soveren) of Silence. Plus, we learn more about the power of the grail and what Rei's (Raye's) vision is about. Then, Chibi-Usa (Rini) finnaly meets her special friend, Hotaru, but she is not like any other normal girl. Plus, the "heart snatchers" are even weirder then before as now they suck the crystal's out of the target's body and swallow it! REALLY!!! EEEOOOWWW!

But anyhoo, in the next episode, we learn more about Hotaru as we find out she's Dr. Tomoe's daughter and that she is somewhat of a link to the Messiah of Silence, but is she the one? Plus, Kaiorinite comes back (from the dead?)! But she doesn't seem to be the same Kaiorinite. -_- weird, I know. We also find out that Sailor Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto are the Outer Sailor Soldiers.

In the last episode, Mimete and Minako (Mina) audition to be co-stars in a hot movie with a hot star. But when both loose, Mimete (know as "Mimi" in this episode) steals the star's pure heart and uses her new "Charm Buster" (First Eugeal with the "Fire Buster", now Mimete with the "Charm Buster", but hey, they are "Death Busters", right? @_@ confuusing!).

This vidoe's great! Hotaru fans must get this, along with all you other moonies out there! 5 stars for sure!!! ^_-

4.0 out of 5 stars The second half of S begins, January 5, 2005
By
This is the edited version of S's eighth volume. These episodes also begin what is, essentially, the second part of the 'S' season.

Episode 105: Show Stoppers - 1st Appearance of Hotaru. Now that the Purity Chalice has been revealed, the scouts wonder what will come next. Dr. Tomoe receives a new mission from the sovereign of silence, who wants pure hearts for their energy. Tomoe gives this assignment to Mimet, who spends much of her time dreaming of male celebrities. Meanwhile, a movie is being filmed in the park and the scouts decide to check it out. Out at the park, Rini meets a pale young girl named Hotaru. The scouts leap into action as Mimet targets a movie actor for a pure heart.

Episode 106: Rini's Risky Friendship - Rini is excited about her new friend and is eager to make a good impression. Thinking her new friend is a boy, Serena tags along to check it out. Serena is in for quite a shock when the woman who answers Hotaru's door is Kaori Night! Meanwhile, Darien confronts Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto about their assignment. They reveal themselves as the Outter solar system scouts.

Episode 107: Mimet's Mess - A dashing younger rock star is making a movie and holds a contest to determine his female co-star. Mina and Mimet both enter. For awhile, Mimet thinks about quitting her evil academy and living a life of fame, but when things go downhill, she turns back to her evil ways.

I loved this VHS. You get to see the one and only sailor moon grand transformation! Also, when she does her attack from that transformation, the tune is awesome! I recommend to any loving transformation Sailor Moon freak.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sailor Moon S Edited Version Volume 8, August 23, 2001
After the death of Eugeal (Eudial for the correct Japanese Romanization) the young Mimette of the "Bureau of Bad Behavior" is up to bat. This time however, the "Heart Snatchers" aren't after the "Purity Chalice". The "Sovereign of Silence" has become weak and must feed on the pure hearts of innocent people, but Mimette, being crazy for cute and famous people, ends up going after the teen idols. Within the Sailor Soldiers, however, is a big dispute between the Outer Planetary Soldiers and the original Sailor Team. Does this dispute get in the way of their fight against evil? I recommend this to anyone who is just getting into Sailor Moon and younger audiances, however, if you've already seen the dub I think a more appropriate choice would be either the subtitled version of the DVD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazon must have made a mistake..., October 9, 2001
By
Mr. P. Reuben (Leeds, United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
...because this tape is actually rated PG-13, as with all of the uncut Sailor Moon tapes and DVDs. And don't let the other reviewer fool you - Sailor Moon is NOT violent, in any of its forms. In terms of dialogue (minor swearing, themes of homosexuality) and violence (characters slap each other, and sometimes get thrown into walls, etc.) the uncut subtitled version is slightly more edgy than the edited version shown TV, but no one who actually watched it would possibly say it should be rated NC-17.

While I've given this tape 5 stars because it's amazing in it's own right, the DVDs are even better (they don't cost much more, but have 4 times as much content), and those are what I recommend buying.

5.0 out of 5 stars Search for the Savior, August 1, 2001

This is definately one of my favorite videos ever. Amara, Michelle, and Trista are on the lookout for the true "soveren" who will save the earth. Although Eugeal has been destroyed, the Sailor Soldiers have a new enemy to face, Mimette. She is just as wicked as Eugeal. Now she has the Sailor Soldiers looking for more help. But Amara and the others refuse to help them. Also, Amara believes that there is something different about Hotaru. Will Rini's new friend be safe? Will Sailor Moon be able to defeat these new enemies without the help of Uranus, Neputune, and Pluto? Find out in this new video.

By A Customer
These episodes are when they find the three heart crytals that poses a special power. I won't tell you who were the people that had the three special heart crystals but it was very shocking. After the three heart crytals transformed into a new transformation for Sailor Moon it now had the special power to defeat the Negaverse. I won't tell you what happens next but in order to find out you have to buy this video. This video totally rocks more than ever.
