Ahh.. bad info in the reviews!,
By Hitsuji (noanimemangaville) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sailor Moon Stars, Vol. 1 (Paperback)
I'm choking here! People are saying wrong info about this book. It will always drive me nuts. ^_^ (for those who know me, yes, I've reviewed the other books too) Having the original Japanese manga... I can say these statements: 1. Her name will not be Riri when you get the book. It stays Chibichibi. (this I have from people who have gotten this book in English) 2. NO Chibichibi is not the final form of Sailor Moon, nor does the manga ever say it explicitly. That's CONJECTURE. No one knows who Sailor Cosmos is! (and no, it does not show up in this manga either) --;; And no.. she is not anyone's daughter either. (never stated) 3. This book covers the arrival of the Starlights, the leaving of Darien/ Mamoru. You get to see Princess Kakyuu as well... and Michiru angry! (It's just a classic moment). It's the set up. And some of the senshi/ scouts get taken.. ^_^ 4. red, is probably a misunderstanding of the katakana. Red and Lead in Katakana are spelled the same. Lack of research is to blame. --;; blame the editor and the translator. Yes, this is not dubbed, it's a translation. Anime is dubbed, Books are translated. Dubbed= voice. translation= words. 5. If you are going to complain about translation, then why are you spelling manga M-A-N-G-A-S? It's Manga.. whether it's 100 or 1000 or just 1, it's still M-A-N-G-A. Don't complain unless you know enough of your Japanese to back it up! 6. NO it's not Star Gentle Illusion. It's Star Gentle Uterus. Why? Maboroshi is Illusion and Illusion in katakana looks nothing like Uterus. E-ru-si-on v. E-u-te-re-su (not even close) Again, wrong accusation. Learn your katakana. Star Gentle Uterus is not stupid either. ^_^ Look up mythology stuff and you'll see why she chose it. 7. The best Sailor Moon tankoubon (or pocket Mixx) I think are 10, 14 (Supers 4), and 18 (Stars 3). Best drawn, best constructed in plot. Though some people might not get the Zen effect that she tends to put into those volumes. 8. I can support this with the fact that I'm doing a Sailor Moon manga FAQ.. which I got permission from someone who translated it and also from the CEO of Mixx.. ^_^ Ken Aromdee too.. for those who know him. (Having all 18 Japanese manga helps too.. and the majority of the Mixx versions, until I ran out of cash --;;)

AWESOME!!!,
By Jamie White "Writer and Then Some" (Florida) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sailor Moon Stars, Vol. 1 (Paperback)
well ^^ I loved the animeversion of Stars (I saw a fansub of the whole series)... the manga version, as always, is darker then the anime (a LOT darker!! in the anime, none of the Sailor Senshi die until the end ;P, in the manga, they strt dying right off the bat!)in any case, as always, I am a great admirer of Naoko Takeuchi, and I LOVE the artwork in this volume!!! ^^ it's just gorgeous, and yes, the villains, as always, die off pretty darn fast, but oh well ^^ book two is even cooler then the first and I simply cannot wait until the final one comes out!! :) the only thing that bothers me about the Stars manga translation is that first, they call Sailor Lead Crow Sailor RED Crow ^^ actually, Red Crow, although incorrect (as one reveiwer noted), doesn't sound half bad -- what Really bugs me, though, is how they call the Galaxy Cauldron the Galaxy Cordon in the second volume o_O... CORDON?? oh well ^^ in any case, tho, other then a few misstranslations an screw-ups here and there (they call Rini by her Japanese name ^^ although, actually, this was quite unavoidable, as Bunny's mom sees Chibiusa's cup, and is suddenly trying to remember just who the heck CHibiusa is.. and she says "Chibi.... Chibi..") ^^ I'm quite glad they left it in like that, although it's sort of funny, b/c tehy were calling her something etirely differnt ^^ in any case, I've also noticed that, particularly in later volumes, like the Super S volumes and Stars, that they occasioanlly called the "Scouts" by their Japanese title: Sailor Senshi (Senshi means Soldier(s) ^^). it's almost humourous, and it's even stragner then in the Sailor Moon S anime season's dub, where half the time they call them "Sailor Soldiers" and half the time call them Scouts ^^ *grin* *rolls eyes* in any case, I think it's kind of weird that they put "Riri" in there, b/c that isNOT what they've calling her *giggle*, oh well ^^ in any case, I truly loved the Stars anime, and have thus far genuinely enjoyed the manga, as well ^^ I can't wait to see what happens! :)

Good book, bad translation,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Sailor Moon Stars, Vol. 1 (Paperback)
This is a great book for all Sailor Moon fans. Unfortunatly MIX didn't translate it right, so most if the dialoge isn't the original. I was out raged at this because I really like the Starlights and I don't want people reading things that Mrs.Takeuchi didn't intend them to say! The names are dubbed (Some of them are) but it still has a great plot. I would recomend seeing the uncut anime as well though.
