The First SuperS Book,
By "starcie" (Toronto,Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sailor Moon Supers, Vol. 1 (Paperback)
Much better than any of the cheap Smile books, this Pocket Mixx manga is not to be missed! The Dead Moon circus is in town.... Dead Moon! Eep! That doesn't sound too good for our Sailor friends... As we read on,we also find out about a mysterious pegasus, who is looking for the maiden that can save his home planet,Elysion with something known as a Golden Crystal. The artwork is,of course gorgeous(Naoko Takeuchi's original Japanese drawings of the characters were used,my oh my!),and the exciting storyline will leave you wanting more... And two "Scouts" (ugh, i totally hate that term!) get power-ups. Which ones, which ones? Well, you'll never know until you read this fabulous novel! And after you finish reading it,make sure to look for the second one,it's really worth it, trust me! I hope this helped you make up your mind about Sailor Moon SuperS,book one. ~*Starcie*~

Very Good Start,
By A Customer
This review is from: Sailor Moon Supers, Vol. 1 (Paperback)
This was a very nice beginning to the Super S series. This book started out with "Eclipse Dream", where the Dead Moon Circus plays a nasty trick on Bunny and Rini by switching their ages! You have to read it to truely appreciate it. Second comes "Mercury Dream", where the Dead Moon Circus plays upon Amy's fears and hopes to trap her in a deadly illusion, can Amy break out in time to save herself? Read it, find out. Third comes "Mars Dream".. Maybe Raye's dreams aren't as big as the rest of the girl's. The Dead Moon Circus tries to trick her into thinking that she *really* is jealous of Bunny and wishes that she were in charge.. Raye doesn't want that! How will she ever break out of this horrible trap? Check it out in Sailor Moon SuperS. Buy it!

A New Wave of SM!,
This review is from: Sailor Moon Supers, Vol. 1 (Paperback)
Okay guys, these books are pretty much only for the open minded, die-hard SM fan(like me! ). They are made mostly for young adults, not kiddies. The mangas ARE the original, minus the fact that they're in English. All the anime was taken from the SM series. I beleive this book equates to SM #12. In Japan it was just an ongoing manga, here they split it. Sailor Chibi-Moon is in these, and it's a really good book. SM and Rini switch bodies, which is kind of funny. If you like any of the other ones, you're gonna love this book. Don't forget! Moon Crytal Power, Make-UP!

Sailormoon S no.1,
By S. Rich (earth.. ;)) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sailor Moon Supers, Vol. 1 (Paperback)
The beauty of the images drawn in this book are uncomparable, yet if you are a "true" Sailormoon fan (and by that I mean, fan of the Japanese original and not of the DiC Dub) you may be dissappointed by their usage of dub words, i.e. "Scouts." I know it would have made all the difference in the world, if they had translated it exactically, if that is possible. If you were looking for the exact translation, don't look here (don't get me wrong, I suppose it must be close). I give it three stars, mainly for the beautiful artwork.

Wonderful!,
This review is from: Sailor Moon Supers, Vol. 1 (Paperback)
This manga is a mixture of comedy, romance, and combat. As well as most other popular genres mixed into one! Even though it is not as original as the "ORIGINAL" Japanese version. And you know the original version is hard to get, and at least we can understand this book without printing out 100 pages of translations. I suggest you DEFINITELY get it!

Sailor Moon Super S vol. 1,
By A Customer
This review is from: Sailor Moon Supers, Vol. 1 (Paperback)
Four words, this book is great. It's the start of an exciting new series in the Sailor Moon saga! New characters, new villians, and new transformations for the scouts! The drawings by Naoko are wonderful in this book. They look so beautiful and the story, I think, is the best one I have read so far. There is also plenty of mystery which will keep you wanting to read more. Who exactly is the Dead Moon Circus, what do they really want, and who is that mysterious young boy Helios? All this and more in the first volume of the Sailor Moon Super S series!

SailorMoonSuperS#1 is GREAT!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Sailor Moon Supers, Vol. 1 (Paperback)
I love this book! I just got it yesterday and I've already read it 10+ times! If you like Mercury and Mars a lot, then you'll like this book a lot because they have Mars' and Mercury's dream in here. They use the NA names except that Usagi is called Bunny. The art is wonderful. There are a lot of funny moments in here like when Chibi-usa and Usagi switch ages. Ami is not a quiet, nerdish, girl with bad hair days in this book. Rei is not bitchy in this book. There is a lot of Mamoru, Usagi, and Chibi-usagi in this book, so if you like them, this is a great book. Minako and Makoto are not around a lot in this book, but it's still great. I can't wait to get SailorMoonSuperS #2!

Artwork by Takeuchi sensei is beautiful in any language,
By Anne Marie (Colorado, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sailor Moon Supers, Vol. 1 (Paperback)
This is the translation of Sailor Moon volume 12. It is nice to be able to read the manga as the artform is intended to be read, about a page every three or so seconds, instead of sitting down with the dictionary and puzzling each page out. (Not to say that each page doesn't deserve to be looked at for a much longer amount of time.) The translation isn't the best ever and occasionally a page is cropped so that a letter or two is missing, but it is worth it for the ease of reading -- at least to my mind. Of course, the artwork is beautiful and delicately detailed -- this is Takeuchi sensei. The story is very good too. There is a lot of character development here, especially on the part of Chibi-usa/Rini (who really is growing on me with this series). There is quite an interesting plot and some absolutely wonderful new characters and new sides to familiar characters! Get this volume and then once you are fluent in Japanese ^_^ you can read the original and hand this translation to a new convert, starting the cycle all over again.

An Awesome Start to the Best Season,
By KS (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sailor Moon Supers, Vol. 1 (Paperback)
This book is an awesome introduction to my favorite series, Sailor Moon SuperS. It includes much information that I didn't find out from the anime and contained added details that were not in the anime, either. The SS season is the best season in my opinion because of my favorite couple from Sailor Moon, Rini and Helios. The whole SS season mostly focuses on them, and that's why I prefer this season, (and Sailor Moon Stars), above all the others. If you are a Sailor Moon fanatic, (or a Rini and Helios fanatic), then this is the book for you. It has romance, more beautiful artwork by Naoko Takeuchi, new transformations, new enemies, humor, and lots of twists and surprises. |
