RECOMMENDED!, April 19, 2001
This review is from: Sailor Moon, Vol. 2 (Paperback)
This book is totally awesome. The romance between Tuxedo Mask and Sailor Moon is MUCH better than in the anime. Naoko even writes little notes an' stuff on the sides of some pages. Just in case you were wondering (Like I did while I read the reviews) The manga is written like a comic book. It's not colored in, but it's great anyway! It IS in English, of course. The pictures are beautiful. Here and there there are a few mistakes, like in Vol. 1 they put "leez" which I think was suppose to be "geez" or "jeez". And here and there they have it where the page is cut off, but they are still great. Mixx is awesome to have brought the ORIGINAL version to America!

A beautiful manga book thats worthy of 5 stars, August 3, 2000
This review is from: Sailor Moon, Vol. 2 (Paperback)
Normally I am very picky on what I choose to read, but as soon as I read this book, I knew I would love all of them. The artwork alone is enough to prove that Naoko Takeuchi is truly gifted. I never tire of reading these wonderful books. I get a dose of all of the type of reading materials I like; drama, romance, and a bit of comedy which makes it the best. I always read them straight through and I always buy the newest book that is released. All in all this book and the other 6 volumes are must have for true Sailor Moon fans.

Do NOT waste money on these books!, May 26, 2011
This review is from: Sailor Moon, Vol. 2 (Paperback)
My review is not of the Sailormoon manga. The manga is beautifully written and illustrated. The story is a joy to read every time (believe me). My review is specifically for the Mixx/TokyoPop release. For many years, these releases were the only way to get the Sailor Moon manga in English. And they were fine. Aside from some horrible mistranslations, the story stayed nicely in tact.
However, Kodansha Comics is re-releasing the Sailormoon manga starting in 2011! Kodansha will be translating and releasing the newer Japanese release of Sailormoon (the version that was released to tie-in with the live action series, 12 regular books and 2 bonus stories books). These new books have a few fully colored pages and touched-up art (both done by Naoko Takeuchi, the writer/illustrator/creator of Sailormoon).
These new translations stand to be CONSIDERABLY better than the old, horrible Mixx/TokyoPop translations.
Whether you've read the manga many times like I have, or you're totally new to the Sailormoon manga, DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK (especially at the outrageous prices people are trying to charge).
Sailor Moon 1 is Kodansha's release of the first volume of the series. They will be releasing the entire series (as well as the two side-story books). And, for the first time in the United States, the SAILOR-V MANGA!
Codename: Sailor V 1 and
Codename: Sailor V 2
Sailor Moon 2 Sailor Moon 3
