RECOMMENDED!,
By A fanatic from IL (Does it matter?) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sailor Moon, Vol. 2 (Paperback)
This book is totally awesome. The romance between Tuxedo Mask and Sailor Moon is MUCH better than in the anime. Naoko even writes little notes an' stuff on the sides of some pages. Just in case you were wondering (Like I did while I read the reviews) The manga is written like a comic book. It's not colored in, but it's great anyway! It IS in English, of course. The pictures are beautiful. Here and there there are a few mistakes, like in Vol. 1 they put "leez" which I think was suppose to be "geez" or "jeez". And here and there they have it where the page is cut off, but they are still great. Mixx is awesome to have brought the ORIGINAL version to America!

Normally I am very picky on what I choose to read, but as soon as I read this book, I knew I would love all of them. The artwork alone is enough to prove that Naoko Takeuchi is truly gifted. I never tire of reading these wonderful books. I get a dose of all of the type of reading materials I like; drama, romance, and a bit of comedy which makes it the best. I always read them straight through and I always buy the newest book that is released. All in all this book and the other 6 volumes are must have for true Sailor Moon fans.

Do NOT waste money on these books!,

My review is not of the Sailormoon manga. The manga is beautifully written and illustrated. The story is a joy to read every time (believe me). My review is specifically for the Mixx/TokyoPop release. For many years, these releases were the only way to get the Sailor Moon manga in English. And they were fine. Aside from some horrible mistranslations, the story stayed nicely in tact.
However, Kodansha Comics is re-releasing the Sailormoon manga starting in 2011! Kodansha will be translating and releasing the newer Japanese release of Sailormoon (the version that was released to tie-in with the live action series, 12 regular books and 2 bonus stories books). These new books have a few fully colored pages and touched-up art (both done by Naoko Takeuchi, the writer/illustrator/creator of Sailormoon). These new translations stand to be CONSIDERABLY better than the old, horrible Mixx/TokyoPop translations. Whether you've read the manga many times like I have, or you're totally new to the Sailormoon manga, DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK (especially at the outrageous prices people are trying to charge). Sailor Moon 1 is Kodansha's release of the first volume of the series. They will be releasing the entire series (as well as the two side-story books). And, for the first time in the United States, the SAILOR-V MANGA! Codename: Sailor V 1 and Codename: Sailor V 2 Sailor Moon 2 Sailor Moon 3

AWESOME,
This review is from: Sailor Moon, Vol. 2 (Paperback)
Well, this book is when sailor V first appears. She is totally cool. Darien and Bunny (Tuxedo Mask and Sailor Moon) figure out eachothers true identities. And they find the silver imperium crystal(which is very very important). If you have seen Sailor Moon on Cartoon Network, just a thing. This is much different. Sailor Moon isn't as...clumsy. And the whole crystal thing is done way differently. Still an amazing book, well written, good plot. Any real sailor moon fan will absolutely adore this book.

This was my first manga book from mixx comix, when i bought it, i knew i was getting something good, and boy was i right! The manga gives you the touching romantic story between Bunny and Mamo-chan, including the revealing of indentities. This is a definate must read, i am an avid Sailor Moon fan and this made my opinion of the series so much higher. I plan on getting the rest of the manga's to finish off the cliffhanger story at the end.

Sailor Moon Manga Vol. 2,
By A Customer
This review is from: Sailor Moon, Vol. 2 (Paperback)
This book is the best 'comic' I have bought. The pictures are awesome and the translation is super. Even though some of the words run of the page, you can still tell what their saying. This book is filled with romance and adventure, all wrapped into one book. This book is made for young adults (at least I think) not for small children, and you must be a die hard Sailor Moon fan for the manga.

I haven't read that many mangas of Sailor Moon yet, but so far, vol.2 was the best. I mean Darien is sooo much better in the manga then he is in the t.v. series. He is so romantic, I would recmond this to anyone who is a Sailor Moon fan. Now if only I could find someone like Darien in 3-D.

The first book you should start out with.,
By Dina (VA, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sailor Moon, Vol. 2 (Paperback)
If you haven't started reading any books yet from the sailor moon manga and have already seen the anime you should start out reading vol 2 instead of vol 1. Even though the anime may be a little different you basically know what already happened in the first book. This book starts out when the negaverse start taking over the minds of the human beings of earth into finding the Imperium silver crystal for them. Then sailor moon has to use her new weapon to save the people that have already fainted from being controlled by the Negaverse. After that The sailor scouts finally find the fifth sailor scout, Sailor Venus! Or does she have another identity? She couldn't be Princess Serenity, or could she? In order to figure out the answer to this question read this book! There's also a pretty neat surprise on what happens later on in the book. I think this book is one of the best boks I've ever read. You definitly need to read this book!!! ...

This is a very good Manga! I am collecting them all and so far I have 1-7 ^.^. This took me by surprise, and is very different from the anime. If you like Sailor Moon and you've never read the manga I would advise you to start with Sailor Moon Vol. 1 which can be found on here and go and collect through 8 I believe. Then it starts out SuperS and Stars, and the rest she hasn't written yet! Be patient :)Ayeka

My fave SAILOR MOON MANGA,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Sailor Moon, Vol. 2 (Paperback)
This has to be my favorite Sailor Moon manga. I loved it so much that I believe I read it 3 times in one day!It starts out with Sailor Moon learning she's the leader of the 3 other sailor scouts. When Serena faints and finds herself with Tuxedo Mask, she uses the moon wand Luna gave her, and with Tuxedo Mask's help, she uses it against the negaverse. Later on, we find out the true identity of Tuxedo Mask, and Serena starts to fall for Darien, as Darien falls for her. Finally, when Sailor Moon is about to be killed by Zoicite (Also spelled Zoysite, and Zoycite), Sailor Venus (A.K.A. SAILOR V!) saves her. Artemis (Sailor Venus's talkingcat) tells the other Scouts that Sailor Venus is the moon princess. But is she really? And why does Sailor Moon's Tiara change from straight to a large crescent moon with a red jewel in the middle? So many twist and turns to keep you hanging! You must read this manga! |
