Sailors" wisdom is a great photobook of high quality (and with a competing price!) Each page let you dream about places where you want to be.

Given as a gift to a client. They raved about it and most enjoyed the quotes.

Comprised of 365 full-color photographs taken by maritime photographer Philip Plisson (whose lifetime body of work includes more than 400,000 photographs and forty books), "Sailors' Wisdom: Day By Day" features memorable images combined with sea-centric comments from a diversity of luminaries ranging from Albert Camus, to William Shakespeare, to Francis Bacon, to Herman Melville. Visually depicted are the oceans of the world in all of their diverse moods, states, and colors. From the sea's dream-like tranquility to its capacity for overwhelming violence, to images of waves and swells, to lighthouses, sails, and boats in an oceanic light, "Sailors' Wisdom: Day By Day" is an original compendium that would grace any personal, academic, or community library collection -- and is especially recommended for non-specialist general readers with an interest in the sea and the ships that sail up it.

It is the first time I had such a photo book. I really liked it. However, the location of the photographs are given at the end of the book in an appendix, this makes it diffucult if you wonder where the photo is taken.
