Saint Dominic Savio as a child had the holy spirit with him from the get go. In my opinion, I believe every young Altar server should learn and watch the well put together video by Bob and Penny Lord. Very Inspiring how this young man defended the Eucurist to death. A great start for a new Altar server to understand the meaning of serving as well as the meaning and significance of the holy Eucurist.

A brief but inspirational account of this young boy's holy life. It should inspire parents to have confidence in teaching the faith in its fullness to their children, and help young people to see sanctity as worth attaining. Nice references to the boys serving Mass and Dominic's "eucharistic amazement". I have no doubt that serving at the altar and witnessing the miracle of the Eucharist that came about at the priest's words inspired in me a priestly vocation. Dominic died at the age of 15, and fulfilled his vocation. Priest or layman, young or old, boy or girl, all can and should be saints. Young people are capable of the highest of ideals, even of sanctity.

I showed this to my fifth grader in preparation for a report on St. Dominic. It shows many of the sites where St. Dominic lived, and gives a nice overview of his short but courageous life. I recommend this to anyone looking for an introduction to this Saint, and it is appropriate for the whole family.

It is not often that a child gets what is important right from the start. Most of us never get it-Saint Dominic is amazing!
