Beautiful book!,

This review is from: Saint Pio of Pietrelcina: Rich in Love (Encounter the Saints) (Paperback)
The "revisionist" pictures the woman mentions above do not take away from the simple beauty of this faith inspiring account of Saint Pio's life. Don't miss it!

Inspiring book! Don't miss this for your child!,
This review is from: Saint Pio of Pietrelcina: Rich in Love (Encounter the Saints) (Paperback)
This is a very good book. I have twins that read this and they were both inspired by it. One of the advantages of it, is that it is not too long. Yes, there is much more to discover about Saint Padre Pio, but this is a very good book to get them interested in hearing more!

Didn't tell enough,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Saint Pio of Pietrelcina: Rich in Love (Encounter the Saints) (Paperback)
I am 10 years old and I read this book in one day. I don't think it told the whole story of this Saint. Many interesting things were left out. If you really want to learn about Padre Pio I would suggest a different book.
It is an interesting book that IS exciting to read but it leaves out really important things. The one new thing that I did learn was that there was only one year of his life that he wasn't sick. There were a number of times in this book where Padre Pio almost died. The way Padre Pio prayed all the time when he was a kid inspires me. He is definetely a Saint to read about!

Where are the head coverings?,
By Quo Primum (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Saint Pio of Pietrelcina: Rich in Love (Encounter the Saints) (Paperback)
Anyone who has seen the real life footage of Padre Pio knows that the women and girls who went to his Mass (the Tridentine Mass) all wore head coverings. From first glance you can see some revisionist history in the picture on the cover since every woman is lacking a head covering. Find an adult book with accurate pictures from a time when people still practiced the true faith and dressed modestly and read that to your children. Padre Pio himself would not have allowed a women into confession or Mass with out a head covering, or a skirt (no pants) AT LEAST eight inches below the knees. Would you pass Padre Pio's test?
