Valentine Zander has presented us with this wonderful small book re-presenting the life and person of a great Russian mystical saint . . .on a par with Saint Francis of Assisi of the western church.

This humble monk and hermit lived the life in the Holy Spirit . . .and his very person shone with that aura of the presence of the Holy Ghost. . . and this light emanated from his person and from his spoken words of teaching and instructions.

Saint Seraphim as a great saint of "the eastern church" . . .and orthodix in every respect, himself prayed before a very 'western" image of The Mother of God . . .a sign that "the church is one" . . and that "we are one people of God" united under the mantle of one Holy Mother.

This biography is also an exposition of the instructions and teachings and example of Saint Seraphim . . .well worth reading and meditating upon . . . after reading this account, you will feel that you have met and know this great mystic . . and that he will accompany you on your own quest for the light of The Holy Ghost. And it is always helpful to have such accompaniment on our pilgrimage and journey through this world of darkness into the world of light.

Valentine Zander has gifted us with a marvelous "presence" . . . the presence of Saint Seraphim of Sarov speaking to us to guide us into a marvelous light of God.
