The Amazon editorial description of this album is right on. A few years back, steel guitar gospel was a cross-over hit. Now it is time for trombone gospel bands. The sound is related to the New Orleans brass bands - but is truly unique. The notes provided with the CD give a good introduction both to the United House of Prayer and to the six shout bands included in the anthology. My personal favorite is One Day at a Time and Ease My Troubled Mind although Madison's Lively Stones are delightful if you want a higher energy music.

Wow! Got this CD as a cutout at a brick 'n mortar store and it has just blown me away. If you like brass bands, gospel, New Orleans, jazz, or any music that can grab you and pull you in, this is one for you. Inspired music, really a gift from above.

This CD is phenomenal. I own about 1000 CDs and after five years, this CD is still in constant heavy rotation. There is something amazing about all those trombones, playing in unison. I am truly speechless in trying to describe the power and greatness of this music. Try this CD with total confidence; these Trombone Shout Bands will not let you down!
