5.0 out of 5 stars Woah... December 4, 2013
Platform for Display:Xbox 360|Verified Purchase
I thought this was a really fun game. I really didn't expect what I got when I got it in the mail and I started the game up. In the game case, you get two discs, the game and the installation disc.

Gameplay:
I honestly thought this was GTA IV on drugs. This was outrageously funny and cool, I thought it was really fun. The driving mechanics were actually really good, especially after playing GTA IV for about a year before I got this.

Characters:
The characters were actually pretty cool, except there was one that really bugged me. I don't remember his name because I got this before I got a few other games and I don't remember things like that, but he did this weird autotuned voice and it REALLY bugged me after a while. I actually liked everyone else. Kinzie is one character you'll meet and she was one of my favorite characters.

Modes:
There's a campaign mode where you can just play through the story. There's another mode called Whored Mode and you have a bunch of random mobs of certain enemies that come after you and you have to kill all of them. There are different arenas that you can be at during the Whored Mode, too.

Weapons:
There's a large array of weapons that range from guns, to melee weapons. There's even a purple dildo bat that you can beat people with. It's actually REALLY fun to do... XDDD

Anyway, I would definitely check it out. I really liked it.

If you like this, you'd like:
Grand Theft Auto: IV
Grand Theft Auto: V
Saint's Row IV
Bully
Driver: San Francisco
Just Cause 2
L.A. Noire
Red Dead Redemption (more western, in the 1800s)
Mafia II

3.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Game, Some Quirks Detract December 7, 2012
Platform for Display:Xbox 360|Verified Purchase
Saints Row the Third has been out for a while so I won't speak to the game itself. It has been reviewed over and over and I won't do any service by doing it again here. The package itself comes with all the DLC which sounds like a great value, but there's a catch. The game doesn't always register all the DLC in game. I bought this game to play with my brother because we loves playing CO-Op on Saints 2. We installed the DLC disc and started the game as normal. For some reason, which we spent hours trying to figure out with multiple uninstall/reinstalls- my brother has access to DLC weapons and vehicles that I don't have access to. I paid for the same content as him, and they show as installed, but will not show up in game. Also if the DLC is uninstalled it also uninstalls the online pass which allows for online play. It's not clear that you can reinstall the online pass already given in the game's package. The game itself prompts you to simply buy another one, which you already paid for. I was so angry I actually called THQ support and had no luck. These publishers spend so much time trying to fight piracy that their paying customers cannot access content they paid for because of glitches and stupid online passes. THQ is on the verge of going bankrupt which is a shame because this is a great game, but the full package is poor execution. The DLC missions add little value and the costume and weapons packs may or may not work on your console. So you be the judge of whether you want to spend for the full package or just buy the original print of Saints 3.

5.0 out of 5 stars Saints Row is pure, grown up fun November 8, 2012
Platform for Display:Xbox 360
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Saints Row 2 is one of my favorite games of all time. Let me qualify that by saying I am a hardcore gamer. My favorites include Knights of the old Republic, Nier, Mario RPG, Deus Ex HR, Final Fantasy tactics, Mass Effect, Jade Empire, Fallout 3/New Vegas, Bioshock, Mega man X3, ect. Saints Row 2 stands up to all of them, and so does Saints Row the third.

I will admit, I miss the bonkers level of customization offered in SR2, but that in no way means that you won't be able to design your character how you want. The graphics are amazing, the gameplay is lightning fast, the amount of things to do from the start are staggering, and the world is brimming with life. When I was prompted to take a car to be upgraded for the first time, I didn't like the one the character was suggesting. I walked out into the street, shot a man, waited for the cops, killed them, took THEIR car, and upgraded IT. Now I have a metallic purple cop car, with an enhanced frame, spikes coming out of the wheels, nitrous, and purple lights underneath the chassis; awesome.

Even the most basic task can go wonderfully wrong. I was sent to pick a character up. I noticed some rival gang members idling at a light, so I got out of my pimped out cop car, and lobbed a grenade under their car. The explosion was very satisfying. I got back in my car, accidentally ran over several dozen pedestrians, and arrived at my location. I picked up my target, and as we were getting into the car I noticed some stars and badges on my screen. Five seconds later, I realized that meant I had upset both the cops, and the gang members, both parties which converged on me, en mass. What turned into a basic pickup, evolved into a thrilling chase through the city with both the cops and gang members trying to run me off the road.
