A guitarist that puts today's guitarists to shame!Good Stuff,

This review is from: Saints & Sinners (Audio CD)
This album was orginally released in 1991.Kane Roberts never got the fame he deservedand and it's a shame. His days with Alice Cooper(1986-1989) are more prime examples of his talent. Also check out his 1987 self titled album, you won't be disappointed if you like the 80's and it's music.
1.Wild Nights(9/10)Great song. His guitar work always is impressive. 2.Twisted(8/10)Another great song, had a music video back in the day.Worth Owning! 3.Does anybody really fall in love anymore(7/10)Bon Jovi orginally wrote this song.Good stuff, not the best though. 4.Dance Little Sister(10/10)Excellent track.Rocks with fury and party energy. The chorus is catchy.Guitar work really ignites sparks on this song. 5.Rebel Heart(10/10)Best song on here. The keyboards and guitar are dazzling.Kane's solos are unique!A great anthem rocker. One of the catchiest chorus lines I think. 6.You Always Want it(7/10)Another great metal song. 7.Fighter(8/10)great guitar work on here. 8.I'm not lookin for an angel(8/10)Fine song.furious fret work by Kane. 9.Too Far Gone(8/10)Another standout on par with the album. 10.It's only Over for You(7/10)This one's a little weak, but not bad. It's no rebel heart but it's good. This album is worth picking up before it's impossible to get again.I remember when it used to cost 35 bucks.I only paid 5 for it.It was well worth every cent and then some.Even thought this came out in 1991, it has a great 80's hair/metal sound. The 80's is where it's all at.Music and stuff, the 80's rock.

An Amazing Melodic Glam record.,

This review is from: Saints & Sinners (Audio CD)
This cd is created by Kane Roberts, and is his best selling Solo cd, now in 87 he made an album that didn't sell very well that was good, not superb but good, but in 1991 he gave all of his time and effort into this album and it really show's, Saints and Sinners is a Glam Metal cd in appearence with Melodic catchy riffs. Kane show's off his talent as a song writer and as a guitarist and as a singer! great voice!, and the other band members in this cd aren't bad either. Although it didn't sell probably more then 200,000 copies, this still remains one of the greatest cd's ever released. Co - wrote with Legendary Alice Cooper bring backer Desmond Child.
Packaging - Hardcover cd case. 5/5 Inserts - good album cover and what not and the inserts have some more sweet photo's. 5/5 Cd - my copy is a rare promotional cd, but its a good recording quality cd either promotional or non promotional. 5/5 Songs. Wild Nights - This may be the best track on the cd, it's a great starting track for this album starting with great keyboards, then into some amazing riffs and lyrics. 5/5 Twisted - Another good song that had a video for it, a hit for the cd, although anything coming from it is a minor hit due to its unknownest. 5/5 Does anybody Really Fall in Love anymore? - A copy of Bon Jovi's song, however all that have heard both versions say Roberts did a much better job. This Song by Roberts was the biggest hit of his carreer, reaching number 40 on the billboard top 100 singles for 1991. 5/5 Dance Little Sister - A shorter song yet still one of the best on the cd. 5/5 Rebel Heart - A balled like Rock Party song, that only Roberts could pull off. Great Guitar and Keyboards. 5/5 You Always Want it - This track is dirtier song, but still has that great sound to it. 5/5 Fighter - Another good song, that helped complete this record. 4/5 I'm not lookin' for an angel - Another dirty song, that actually starts off with some rather interesting noise. 5/5 Too Far Gone - Another great melodic track with great guitar. 5/5 It's only over for you - A good enough, song, just not as rememberable as the rest of the record, not the best way to end it either. 3/5 Price - Not available in stores, so its rare from 1991, and on amazon the prices seem really really fair, maybe even too generous for what you get, i'd say if your a glam rock fan, or good music fan, or rock and roll fan, or 80's fan, or metal fan - get this, you can't go wrong. Overall Rating - 4.8 - rounded to 5

I found about Kane Roberts from his days as guitarist for Alice Cooper during the '86 Constrictor album and '87 Raise your fist and Yell album. What an awesome guitarist, he plays with heart and soul and has a good voice for rock, great musician all around. I love his guitar work, plenty of hammer on's, pull off's and squeals, arpeggios and scale run's up and down the fret board. He is not a very known and popular guitarist, but that is why i like him alot, he is obscure but has great talent and deserves more credit than he is given. Definatly pick up this album and get his Phoenix Down cd, which is his band and that cd rocks too.

A Hair Metal Melodic Rock Gem!,
This review is from: Saints & Sinners (Audio CD)
This CD rocks hard from start to finish with songs that are so melodic and catchy that you might find yourself bobbing that head back and forth and tapping that foot in rhythm! This one gets a ton of replay in my collection. It is the type of music that is great for long drives to keep you awake or to keep you from knocking your head off the desk at work! There is truly not a bad or boring song on this album. It is a hair metal album with more rocking melody than you can imagine. I can't believe this CD is not more recognized for how great it is!!

I am surprised that this CD is not getting higher reviews. I didn't expect much when I first got it (about a year ago), but I found myself playing it over and over and really enjoying it. There are tons of hard melodic rockers in here and a couple REALLY GOOD ballads. I just found the songs to be the type that you sing in your head for days after hearing them.
I just listened to this CD again to confirm my opinion. Here is what you will get: Loud guitars with GREAT solos, Smooth vocals, Loud anthemic choruses, Great ballads, Pounding drums...basically great 80's style hard rock/hair metal. If you like 80s music like this, there is no way you couldn't enjoy this gem. There really isn't a bad song on here but I think the highlight is 'Fighter', a soaring melodic rocker that is so good it may give you goosebumps. I highly recommend this CD.

A classic melodic hard rock album of the early 90's,
By
This review is from: Saints & Sinners (Audio CD)
`Saints and Sinners" is the second solo album by guitarist/songwriter Kane Roberts (ex-Alice Cooper) originally released in 1991. Best known for his bodybuilder physique and ability in popular metal song writing, Kane should rightfully be considered an authority in the glam metal and melodic hard rock genres.
In comparison to his debut album, "Saints and sinners" is a much more melodic and slightly less glamorous collection of songs; the lyrics for that matter have moved away from the sex & violence concept to more self expressive themes. In addition Kane's macho vocals have become substantially more melodic and clear delivering a strong AOR essence to the album. The studio line-up features Kane on lead vocals and lead guitar, John McCurry on guitar, Steven Steele on bass, Myron Grombacher on drums and key player Chuck Kenits. "Saints and Sinners" is definitely amongst the last great melodic hard rock albums to be released in the early 90s, riding on the success the genre enjoyed during the 80s. For that matter "Saints and Sinners" holds its own in today's musical scenery. Indeed songs like the unsurpassable "Rebel Heart", the melodic "Fighter" the overblown "Too far gone" and the hit power-ballad "Does anybody really fall in love any more". "Saints and Sinners" is a great melodic hard rock album by a criminally under-rated guitarist-singer-songwriter that effortlessly stands up to contemporary melodic rock works; and Kane Roberts will return as a live performer in late 2011.

An amazing album that epitomizes everything that was good about the hair rock genre. Very highly recommended. I don't understand why this didn't top the charts everywhere when it came out. I will forever love these songs, especially Twisted, Wild Nights, Does Anybody Really Fall In Love Anymore, Rebel Heart and I'm Not Lookin'For An Angel. You can hold them up against a light with Livin' On A Prayer and the like. Perfection!

Every Song is a pearl!!
Two Superballads and a lot of Rockers. My favourite Songs are: "Fighter" and "Does anybody realy fall in love anymore?". The album is produced by Desmond Child. It sounds like "Alice Cooper-Trash" or "Cher-Heart Of Stone".

After reading the other reviews, I went ahead and bought this CD...I am definitely a fan of 80s/early 90s rock n' roll, and also a fan of the Kane Roberts-era Alice Cooper. So. This album is ok, but I definitely don't get into it as much as the other people who've reviewed it. The stand-out track is, easily, "Fighter," and if the whole album rocked like that one, I'd never stop listening to it. But since most of the songs fall onto the more mediocre side of the fence...I don't know. Like I said, it's not a bad record, but there are plenty of other treasures from the same period in rock n' roll that are much better.

What crap is this? Releasing albums like this is what started Michael Bolton's carrerr. This was just painful to listen to. I remember Kane from Alice Cooper and from his first solo cd back in 89. This had one hit on it, so I guess you can call Kane Roberts "A One Hit Wonder." He disappeard from the music realm after this and I would to after releasing this album. Bitting of the saw blade on the back cover that makes no sense to me cause this is nothing like a roaring blade. This was very painful to listen to. I can describe it for you as if I was listening to birds churpping outside my window when the sun first comes up. I don't know which one is worse.
