Holy Cow! I thought force feedback gamepads and joysticks were as far as we would ever get in gaming immersion....and then along comes the Saitek GH30 Vibration Headset (PH04AU)!

For fighter jocks and even ground pounders you will get a real idea of how the experience of combat sounds and FEELS!

The concussion from arty rounds and just firing your own weapon really adds that little extra to the game. Listening to the sounds of prop or jet engines really is amazing...it adds a whole new dimension to the games of flight sims and first person shooters.

The volume controls for both sound and vibration lets you configure the headset for your individual comfort. you can go from zero vibration...to head rattling, bone jarring, filling loosining madness! and everything in between.

The headset is obviously a little heavier than the standard headset because of the vibration motors necessary for its operation but one can quickly get used to that or you can use it as a gauge for when it's time to take a break from combat....either way I was not dissappointed with the product and for the price it looked like a bargin to me.

The headset itself is very comfortable to wear, very well designed and put together. The boom mike which comes with it is unobtrusive and after a few minutes you forget it's even there.

Overall sound quality is excellent and in my humble opinion far above the norm for this price range. Bass response is outstanding.

The hook up was easy....just like any other headset which connects directly to your sound card....the USB adapter powers the force feedback vibration motors or you have the option of using another adapter using battery power form 2 AA's.

You can even use it to listen to music...

I really wanted to leave a review to straighten the record on this headset. The vibration feature is awesome, when cranked it'll make you literally jump out of your seat when someone sneaks up on you and fires from close range! It's truly awesome! The previous review by I. Chan is quite mistaken, there are no USB drivers because this is not a USB headset, it is analog using a standard speaker jack. The USB connector is merely the power for the vibrating force-feedback feature (which requires USB 2.0). He must have had it plugged into the older USB 1.0 type port which doesn't have the same amount of power output. If he had read the outside of the packaging or the included instructions it would have been clear to him.

The sound quality on these is excellent and they're quite comfy and durable. My only complaint is the microphone. It's not amplified in any way and is very, very weak. I could hardly be heard when using Teamspeak. Really the Mic is quite useless. Otherwise, this is an awesome headset. Highly recommeded as long as you don't need the mic.

The headphones are really pretty good and the vibration feature is kinda neat too. But although I never use the microphone in any of my games, I did test it. It's a real joke. I mean, I think I'll take a set of cutters to it and just cut it off to get it out of my way. It's truly that bad.

I got these headphones because they were cheap and I needed a replacement for a headset that had just broken. The whole "vibration" feature intrigued me. Within a day of receiving them, the left ear started to squeak whenever it attempted to vibrate, even on low settings. It was a nuisance at first, but eventually just became an annoyance, especially because the vibration added a lot to whatever game I happened to be playing. Needless to say, I was rather disappointed.

I had this for about 3 months before the microphone went. Prior to that, I heard constant complaints over Ventrilo to "fix your mic". I don't know if this was just my sound card biting the dust or if the mic was actually just transmitting garbage, but it resulted in me getting a new headset yet again.

It was, however, very comfortable. Probably the most comfortable headset I've worn, to be honest. When I bought this device, the title said "USB", which could be misleading. The microphone and headphones use 3.5 mm jacks, while the vibration functionality is powered by USB. You do have the option of switching the vibration on and off without having to unplug the cord, as well as control the amount of vibration.

I am very pleased with these headphones. The sound quality is great (especially compared with the ear buds I had been using) and the mic works well. However, the vibration feature doesn't seem to work at all. I haven't tried using it with batteries, but when plugged into a USB2 it makes no noticeable difference. I haven't felt the slightest bit of vibration, even when cranked to the highest level, and I've been playing games that should trigger some vibration. What's worse is that the second I switch on the vibration feature a very loud (LOUD!) buzz begins. I don't know if my pair got dropped in shipping or what, but I nonetheless think this is a very nice pair of headphones with mic.

I have just discovered vibrating headsets ( i would have never thought of a vibrating headset!!!), and i would have thought they would cost hundreds of dollars. This baby only cost $10 Was received extreamly fast and was suprized what i found in the box. Not only did the headphones look AMAZING!, but the cord is very long, comes with usb AND AAA battery power pack!!, AND the headset even works when there IS NO POWER SUPPLY! Its like taping a sound sensitive Xbox360 controller that's has headphones and REALLY comfortable to your head. The headphones are amazing, and i will be buying many more products from Saitek.
