This Manga Drawing kit provides all the basic tools needed to get started in a compact value package. The mechanical pencil and eraser are handy for laying down the initial outlines. The 0.6 mm and 1.0 mm nibs are particularly useful for drawing caricatures at a good speed. The 0.3 mm and 0.4 mm are perfect for adding small details. While the plastic nibs might wear down visibly under heavy usage, the larger nibs will continue to reliably produce clearly defined dark strokes. The 0.4 mm unfortunately is not as sturdy and can be damaged rather easily with a heavy hand pressure, so use a light touch for better mileage out of it. Overall a well rounded compact sketching kit.

I recently had the pleasure of purchasing these pens from a local store (sorry Amazon). As a beginner manga artist, I was amazed at the quality of the pens and the difference they made with my drawings. The ink dries rather quickly and pencil lines can be erased without fear of smudging.

I purchased this as a starter kit, as I had no manga markers. It contains a decent range of sizes that are smooth and dry quickly. The pencil is very basic, but if you lack a good set of drawing pencils, will do in a pinch. I would highly recommend looking for a better pencil if you plan to draw on a regular basis. The eraser that comes with it is fantastic - I use it over any of the other brands I have found, as it quickly erases nearly every hardness of pencil I have without a lot of rubbing and does not make a lot of mess.

Who this is best for: beginners and advance level artists who want an inexpensive kit for drawing manga or for a basic sketch kit.

the drawing kit has a good combination of materials, although i do think the eraser was a bit hard to use. it has a o.7mm mechanical pencil, o.3mm, 0.4mm, 0.6mm and a 1.0mm tip markers. overall, the kit was great.C:

The pens themselves are very high quality and are easy to use, however, I find it a little disconcerting and just a little difficult that there is no middle size between the .6mm and 1mm pen, and thing that in future pen sets there should be a .7 or .8mm in place of the mechanical pencil (which many people have these days). Besides, it's supposed to be a PEN set, right? I got 4 pens... and a pencil.

Overall, I still think it's a pretty decent set for the price, and they have lasted me several inked pages so far (~10-11)so their longevity is pretty good too. I'd definitely recommend this set to anyone who likes working with pens instead of brushes.

I found this product great. You start buy drawing in pencil, then erase what you don't want and then start tracing with the pen that will work for you. It comes with different points to draw fine lines or think. It is a perfect set. I still have it. If I run out of ink, I just buy myself a new set. Good luck and happy painting.

I would buy this set for the mechanical pencil, the pens suck compared to these ones I get from Germany. Ok I also want everyone to realize, good art materials do not always come for Japan, I think the best art pen I ever used were from Germany...
