Salaam-e-Ishq follows six couples in their journey with one common problem: Love. Salaam-e-Ishq, in my opinion, sits on the line of romantic comedy/drama. With a cast of stars including Anil Kapoor, Salman Khan, and John Abraham this film (like many Bollywood flix) tends to be corny in areas but, in short, is incredibly endearing.
The music is fabulous! I am sorry that the song "Mera Dil" was cut but I enjoyed all the other music so much that I purchased the soundtrack as well. Salaam-e-Ishq. I discovered "Mera Dil" on the soundtrack and I just could not get enough of it. Overall the best part of this film for me was the fact that it is a good start for people who are not into Bollywood. Friends and family members could relate to the subject matter of this film and now want to see more!

This review is from: Salaam-e-ishq (DVD)
Smart, funny, and expertly crafted, this modern masala weaves together six love stories. Each is stylistically distinct and focuses on a different challenge that couples face. The happily married Ashutosh (played by John Abraham) and Tehzeeb (Vidya Balan) overcome family disapproval because of their religious differences but then face an even greater test when tragedy befalls them. Middle-age couple Vinay (Anil Kapoor) and Seema (Juhi Chawla) grapple with boredom and infidelity. Shiven (Akshaye Khanna) gets cold feet before his wedding to Gia (Ayesha Takia). Taxi driver Raju (Govinda) falls in love with an American woman (Shannon Esra) while helping her find the Indian lover who dumped her. Newlyweds Ram (Sohail Khan) and Phoolwati (Isha Koppikar) have a hilariously difficult time trying to consummate their marriage. Each story in this grand multistarrer delivers, but the best one is that of B-list starlet Kamini (Priyanka Chopra) and mystery-man Rahul (Salman Khan), who stage a fake romance as a publicity stunt and find true love in the process. - The Bollywood Ticket: The American guide to Indian movies (http://www.thebollywoodticket.com) Subscribe: The Bollywood Ticket
